Simon Cowell disses Idol hopeful

You say that Six Flags performers could go on to better things like Broadway and such which some do..and, you never know, some Six Flags performers could always go on to become, hmmm, American Idols.

Think...Kelly Clarkson (2001 SFOT Christmas performer)

Ejay was a performer at SFOG

Nikki was hired at SFOT but quit before the season started (Well, it is more interesting than that, but I'll leave it to your imagination)

Yeah...so..I don't know if he was thinking of Six Flags shows or just a couple of the SF performers he has come across in his AI days not being able to sing. Erm. Did I say that?

I think Corey should've been shot and eliminated when he did "Against All Odds" by Phil Collins. When he started the falsetto it was almost as bad as Keith, you know the guy who sang "Like A Virgin". And Carmen should've gotten the shaft after her horrible redition of Blondie's "Call Me" (title?).

If you have a problem with clones, the solution is real simple—Stop traveling.
I thought that Carmen was the definite one to go last week...I don't know why she possibly stayed. I thought after Kimberly Caldwell's first performance of Come to My Window that she was a definite finalist too, but she went on to be only a wild card.

The way the crowd reacts (more like the teenage girls react) to the performers, I made a prediction that the top possibly 3, but definitely 2 would be guys. I think that Ruben and Clay will go all the way with probably Ruben winning it all. For some reason I've been pulling for Clay the whole time. It's probably the "wow factor" of him having that voice in such a puny, white guy body.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.

Corey Clarke has the look, you know the semi-thugged out, but not gangster appearance. Hey, anyone of you hip hop fans notice he looks almost exactly like Knocturnal?!
Several of Opryland and Dollywood's former Employees went on to become Superstars. Dollywood has 3 Employees now in a NYC Broadway show, and quite a few of Today's Country stars once worked at Opryland. (And then theres that Girl on Happy Days, Erin Moran, who performed at Opryland in 1972)

Universal also has a few stars. I belive some N*Sync or 98 Degrees Members once performed on the Beetlejuice show.

And then theres that Damn attempt at the Mickey Mouse Club....

Today I got stuck participating with my daughter in SFGAdv's Warner Bros. Kid's Clud show.

Does that mean I can't be the next American Idol?

I would have to say that the entertainers I saw at Dollywood were the best I have seen at any park including Disney. I am not a huge country music fan but those folks had talent.
When I worked at Opryland in '87, the Tennessee River Boys performed there every day as a resident band. They later changed their name to Diamond Rio.
Hmmm, sounds like a marketing stunt to me.... Insult the performers at Six Flags in exchange a for a little name drop the day after you announce your new coaster at SFMM, in the meantime the rest of the country begins to think about when their local Six Flags will open for the season. To coincidential to me.
meh, i doubt it. while american idol is shamelessly notorious for product placement (cola, cars, cell phone service), it takes a large chunk of change to do it, and it's always overt. simon was probably just grasping for a name people would recognize. plus, it wasn't exactly a flattering statement, and it was kinda all mumbly, too.
Coasterguts...is your real name Oliver Stone? ;) That's quite a conspiracy theory... ;)
