Silverwood- Anyone Heard of it!?

Personally I think that Silverwood is home to the top two best wooden coasters out there! Of course not a whole lot of people agree. They always say that Raven is the best, sure Raven packs quite a punch but it's not near as excellent as Tremors! Tremors Goes 60 mph, has 4 undergroud tunnels and takes your picture all at the same time! And you can't forget about Timber Terror!

AirTime: the sudden feeling one gets when thrown out of their seat on a zero G hill on a Roller Coaster. See also Timber Terror!

Timber terror has some awesome airtime! some of the best in the world! And of course there is also Corkscrew. Most people ride it and say ouch, without even realizing that this very Arrow Corkscrew was the first modern coaster to take it's passengers upside down! yes it is the original corkscrew from Knott's Berry Farm!

Now how could one read this and not want to visit Silverwood? I don't know! People just say, but there is only three coasters. Well thats it, right there. Because they say that, they think, "well i better not go", meaning less money for Silverwood. Which all equals out to: there is not enough money to build a new coaster! seriously folks, if you come to Silverwood, then the $25 you just spent on to get in just helped pay for a possible new coaster!

Silverwood is SOOO family oriented! when I say that I don't mean fun for the non thrillseeking family but fun for the non thrillseeking family and the thrillseeking family!

So come on down folks to the best THEME park around! You won't regret it!

And you forgot the best part. There are hardly ever any lines. I went on a Saturday and the coasters were still walk ons. This park truely is amazing.

Silverstar - there's an annual event at the park, Coaster Alley Convergence. This year it's on August 23rd. Here's the link for details on the event. It's not a park-sponsored event or ACE event, so anyone can sign up for it.

Silverwood was a blast. I went for the first time last summer--twice. Tremors alone was worth the five-hour drive from Seattle. Timber Terror has some great moments as well. Corkscrew was a walk-on both times I was there--a big improvement from the hour-long waits I remember when it was at Knott's. I had to forego a credit-whoring ride on Tiny Toot because I was too FAT to get the lapbar down all the way. Talk about embarrassing moments...sheesh. If I start exercising again immediately I might be able to ride it next season. Maybe I should jog to Silverwood.

Yes, I've heard of it.

Yes, I love it.

Yes, there are two top-tier CCI coasters there.

No, but I did have a close call with some goons there!
I have to get out there to ride those two woodies. It's not going to happen this year, but hopefully next year. So I would pretty much agree with you except I haven't ridden either coaster yet, and I've had a real problem trying to rate CCI's against one another anymore. All their coasters are great and not always for the same reason. They're ALL unique with subtle little nuances that set them apart from each other. Sure, some of their rides are more intense than others, but each coaster is busy from lift hill to final brake. We haven't seen rides like this built since the 1920's. They sure kick the crap out of 90% of the Summers' designs we were fed in the eighties. I wanted to puke most of his coasters back up they were so bad.

Also on a final note, I would put Holiday World, Kennywood and Knoebel's in the same category as truely excellent parks with great woodies and park atmosphere. I don't doubt your opinion though because I've heard the same thing about Silverwood's coasters from friends. I even like the name SilverWOOD. I'm so sick of one of my local parks that is named after a type of tree, and only knows how to clear cut them down to put up metal!

Eric, dont EVEN say you didn't know about this. As far as Silverwood goes, are you sure you don't work for the company, Silverstar? Talk about high praise! Yes, Silverwood is a great park. It is NOT a destination, though, and that will always be an issue when the park is located in northern Idaho. Yes, it has two wonderful CCI coasters, both of which rank deservedly high, but it will always be a regional park, much like Holiday World. I am indeed hoping that the new waterpark, which I have yet to see, is what the park needs to get a larger "fanbase." It is a wonderful place that only needs one more thing. Trees. Can they just plant some trees? :)

I agree 100%.

Well, Before comparing one coaster to another, Don't you have to ride both first? Also don't you have to ride each at their best?

I know people that have ridden the coasters at both Holiday World and Silverwood and well lets say there is a tendancy to lend the favortie to which park is closer to them.

One thing that remains solid is that Both parks have two top running woodies and from what I hear, Silverwood may soon have FOUR a RACER!

Chuck, who knows they have plans but think they are waiting for the economy to pick up.

I totally agree, Of course your talking bout CP and I like you think the park is becoming just another bland and brightly painted slab.

Now you see, it's this aditude that does not help silverwood build a new coaster. You see BaSSiStiSt if don't go you can expect an even longer wait for that vekoma mad mouse.

I do not work for Silverwood, I just truly love it!
