signatures

I don't whine a lot...here at CoasterBuzz anyway ;) , but I don't like how when someone updates their signature it updates on every previous post too. Signatures are fun and it's sad to lose them. :(

I agree, I wish I could go back and remember some of my old sigs. It wasn't always like that, was it jeff?

There have been some great sigs over the years. I love Den's. (I believe) The raindrop sig is great.

I guess some sigs are cool!

It'll never go back to that. It's not an efficient use of space for something that, quite frankly, doesn't really contribute anything to conversation. If a person has a long sig (like punk's ;)) it would be saved over and over again, all over the database. If he made a hundred posts in a week, that adds up. The way it is now, it appears in one place, and that's it.

So the short answer is that I'll never change it back!

I have a question for you jeff, when you had it the other way when the old sigs would still appear in older posts, did it take up more space for the site? Speaking of signatures, am I the only one who gets annoyed by people typing in thier signatures every time they post, ala CPDUDE?

It might just be my stupid pet peave, but I like the no sig option, and use it for a reason.

For the most part I "uncheck" the sig box....until something NEW and exciting comes along that I feel the need to share...;)

Perhaps setting the DEFAULT as "no sig" so that users have to CHECK the box to show their sig....it's an idea you might wanna kick around at the next "mods only" meeting, LOL...
