Sideways pictures in Day in Pics

Is there a way to rotate the photos once uploaded? I didn't see any. I'm not sure why they turned sideways, they were right side up in iPhoto, but they uploaded sideways here.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

There is not. I've seen that before, and I haven't figured out what the distinction is. I wonder if iPhoto is remembering to rotate the photos, but not physically changing them itself.

I thought about that too, because they're obviously the pictures that I took 'sideways' on the camera, so maybe it is an iPhoto issue. When I upload to Flickr it automatically flips it around, but I've noticed a friend of mine that uses iPhoto and uploads to Facebook, and it doesn't always do that.

When I upload pics to the database it seems as though the EXIF data isn't recognised when uploading an image that hasn't been manipulated.

However, if I open the file in Preview and save, it appears fine when uploaded.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

That's what it is then. The resizing stuff does not account for EXIF at all... it only deals in the bits.

Ah ok, so flip then upload?

Yes sir. Keep the resolution as high as you can, so the resize on the server will be clean.
