I run on this: AMD Duron 1800 (1.8 Ghz) 256 MB or RAM, Windows XP, 16 bit compatible sound card, 64 MB RADEON 7000, and 9.0c Direct X. I seem to have no problems at all , does seem to lag at times, but I'm getting an upgrade around christmas to a 2400 XP (2.4Ghz)...quote]You so realize that when speaking of AMD, 1800, 2400, etc do not mean MHz? An 1800 is only 1.53 GHz. A 2400 is only about 1.7.
So an AMD with an actual chipspeed of 1.53GHz is just as fast as an Intel 1.8GHz, hence the 1800 name... *** Edited 11/10/2004 8:03:45 PM UTC by redman822***

The Bad:
I don't like how shuttles that have reverse incline shuttle launches shoot outta the back of the station. Not very realistic. Also, the train dosen't go back thru the station if you have a back spike. This is unrealistic for Veko shuttles, and you can't even make a correct Anton Shuttle. We're back to RCT1 again, ARrrgh!.The Ugly:
Looping coasters. They don't have the supports on the loop that was in RCT1 and 2 that make it look like an Anton, and it dosen't have the big, bulky breaks either. I can live with this, but please fix it, Frontier!
Actually it will go up the spike if you set the # of circuits to 2. It will NOT relaunch again though the loop if it's set at 2. So that's very good. The bad part is that you can't do it for the vekoma boomerang since there's the lift segments (well you can but the train will go up all the way, which is even worse than not going up the spike at all) I agree with you about the loop supports and the brakes. I can live with the brakes, but the loop just looks bad! I think the loop should be bigger, more circular, and naturally have the two big box supports coming from both sides.
Well, we can even use corks and heartline rolls now. Some things seem so rushed or they just didn´t care.
There are so many things that are great, but a minute later you will find something that takes away from it. I like that you can use overbank-turns on the spinning coaster, but then again you wonder why you can´t use banked curves and helices to rebuild Maurer and Gerstlauer spinners. For a moment I hoped that you can switch to those cars, but again they offer a cheaply designed pumpkin-car as an alternative.
Its so funny, the programmers got all nerdy while including the Arrow-Pipeline, but they completely ignored new existing rides such as the 95° Gerstlauers, the X-car, the Mack waterocasters and the aforementioned spinners.
On the other side, they did a great job programming the suspended wild mouse, which sways slightly to the sides during curves.
I agree. For a game called Rollercoaster Tycoon, we sure didn't get alot of new coasters. And of the ones we got, the only one that has enough options for me to like is the screaming squirrl.

No, I mean Ghz if anyone ever owned one on system properties and BIOS it gives readings of 1.8 GHz they do operate faster, that what you think, as long as they don't overheat, beleive me I work with computers all the time (If you must know I'm training to become a Network Administrator), I know what I'm talking about, and TeknoScorpion, your hillarious! :)

And on another note, how in the hell are you running Direct X 9 on a Radeon 7000. Those vid cards are only rated for DX 7. The first DX 9 compliant radeon cars are the 9500 series. Either you are grossly mistaken or something else is going on.

I do have DirectX 9c, If you were to own in you would know that its compatible, supposing you say so I wouldn't be able to play , and I can (now i can't get reflections) but It is Direct X 9 compatible, I didn't overclock my comp. IF you don't own a duron or a radeon 7000 shut up now, before you make a fool of yourself, I fear you don't have the knowlege to know what I do. OH and if you didn't see it it would be wise to reread Jeff's post above! ;)
Please excuse me if I offended anyone, I'd rather get along then argue over something i already know. Don't take any of this offensivly. *** Edited 11/17/2004 12:09:29 AM UTC by DC2Beltz3***
I dont *have* to own those particular pieces to be able to make my statements. I just have to know how to read.
Your Duron, if it is indeed a 1.8GHz, is NOT called an 1800. The 1800 series and other similar names are for the Athlon product lines, not the Duron. The Durons were simply noted by the GHz speed.
And I dont care what you say, the Radeon 7000 NOT DX 9 compliant. That's why you cannot get the whole feature set.
And stop trying to get use Jeff as a co-signer. His post has *absolutely NOTHING* to do with what I've said.

The current version of DX can work with ancient hardware if the drivers support it. It's just a matter of whether or not the work can be done in the hardware (and the fancy DX9c features are only supported by the latest cards).
