Colossus [1]
Nemesis: Inferno [6]
Some say New Orleans may be among the first major casualties. The city, which sits 8 feet (2.5 meters) below sea level at the mouth of the Mississippi, is protected by a system of manufactured levies and natural barrier islands. But many of the tiny islands are expected to disappear by 2050. Meanwhile, New Orleans is sinking, in a process called subsidence, at a rate of 3 feet (1 meter) per century.
Responding to the threat, the director of the U.S. Geological Survey, Chip Groat, issued a blunt warning in 2000: "With the projected rate of subsidence, wetland loss and sea-level rise, New Orleans will likely be on the verge of extinction by this time next century."
There are plenty of science articles on the sinking of New Orleans, but you'll have to do the research.

I have a better idea for Shockwave. SFGAm could build a B&M floorless coaster in 2005 called "Aftershock." For all the old Shockwve fans, it could have all the same elements as Shockwave had, only a much smoother B&M version. Then SF could do the unthinkable and give it great theming. The que line could go through the old Shockwave station with a train just sitting there. Then there could be scattered pieces of track laying around all throughout the ride. They could paint it the same colors, and have cool signs during the que that have random Shockwave facts. It could be a memorial to Shockwave.
I know there is a lack of space and Six Flags' terrible theming history, but wouldn't this be awesome.
Those are the facts, and a few opinions. Only time will tell for sure, but I think Shock Wave's fate is pretty obvious (unfortunately).
