Shockwave Update

Well Holli, he may have mistaken them for the pre- existing trees.
Please someone take pictures! I wanna see how cool it looks.

If you don't have anything nice to say don't say ANYTHING at all.

They usually put trees and stuff in after the ride is built, they would only be AROUND the site now

-----------------

Or maybe he just saw Shockwave's track regrowing out of the asphalt and mistook it for trees.

Oh, it's official, Wave and Wind Jammer are replacing Shockwave ;)

Reading through the posts, they were referring to construction at SFGAdv. Don't know how they managed to change topics, but hey... why not!

The ride looks freaky - since I really don't remember what it looked like in the original construction. All you see are the large white supports looming.

I was there today and I took some pictures, as soon as I develop them Ill put the on my Shock Wave dedication page. I must admit, It was very sad to see Shock Wave's supports sitting there with no track. I will miss this ride alot :-(

Yeah there isnt realy much leftjust the frs loop and some track from the first drop and the lift hill supports.

There's one little piece of track still on the supports, right after the top of the hill. That was as of Saturday anyway...

Regarding the trees in the area, those trees have been there for years. None of them are new.

The trees havent always been there. The trees that have always been there r the 1's with no leaves on them. The new trees r the evergreens. They still have planting supports holding some trees up. As for your photo, that was not correct. Those trees came before they got that far on the coaster, but have not been there when the ride was open. I come in through the vistor's parking lot all the time, and they never used to be there. If they were there, you would never have been able to see shockwave in action, because now the trees block most of the viewing. Along with that crappy looking trailer outside the gated construction zone...

I with you, Hollister. considering that they're planting new trees, even if it is on esisting patches of grass, I think it may be safe to assume that the asphalt will be ripped out and replaced with something more visually friendly. from the video, it looks as if the parking lot under the flyer at GAdv will be landscaped. I hope its the same with ours.

Shockwave had trees to begin with.
They wouldn't plant trees in the same spot if they were going to rip up asphault.

The trees have definitely always been there. Take a look at the RCDB picture above - those are all still there, and they've been there for years.

Evergreens aren't 170' high, so they don't hide the ride.

-Nate

No new trees have been planted, but I have noticed some trees have been torn down. I don't think they will be doing any landscaping around the ride until after its built.
