Shockwave Update

Friday, November 1, 2002 5:39 AM
Just in case anyone was interested: Shockwave's Lift track and drop has been removed. All that is left from what I could see was the lift hill support structure and the first loop.

Absolutely. So smooth now, except for the brake run at the end.

Ill be there tomorrow and ill take some pics, its so sad to see this wonderfull classic big blue ride leave Great America for good. I know many people did not enjoy this ride, but I wa one of those nuts who loved this ride. Last year at Fright fest me and my friend stayed on it 34 times in a row and loved every ride on it. The park will never be the same again, I realy wish Great America could have been like SFGAd and just tore up some more parking lot or something like that to put in Superman. Any ill shut up now, Good bye Shock Wave :'-(

about the trees, are they temporary, permanent, or not even planted yet?

Do any of you know how to build a sundial out of a pen and a donut?
uh oh, sounds like someone has a case of the mondays.

they r planted firm into the ground...there only trees in the grassy areas for now, which pretty much border the construction site...hopefully there will be a lot more..it would be so awsome to "fly" in and out of the trees...

I with you, Hollister. considering that they're planting new trees, even if it is on esisting patches of grass, I think it may be safe to assume that the asphalt will be ripped out and replaced with something more visually friendly. from the video, it looks as if the parking lot under the flyer at GAdv will be landscaped. I hope its the same with ours.

I dont see how u can miss them. there r high fences around the construction area, with the trees mainly surrounding the outskirts of the construction zone. Very visible...
