Shockwave SFGAm What's the deal?

I am curious, have they started to take down Shockwave yet? Did they even officially announce that they would? If they are really building a new ride wouldn't they have to take it down really soon?

lol, no the chainlift has been removed for like the 50th million time But whatever SFGAm is doing for next season you have to believe that they are behind schedule. Whizzer was suppose to come down on the 11th so they could start construction early, but almost a month later and no construction is happening at all.

No one knows for sure what is going to happen. It will probably be removed because there surveyor marks all around it. As for the chain, when would they have the time to remove it without someone seeing it. It must still be there though it's hard to see. Hopefully, they will start constuction soon. If they don't, I see another late opening

Cedar Point 2003, and it begins...

Don't be AT ALL surprised if next year this time, Shockwave is still standing in its current location...It really is a big part of the arsenal, and when SFGAm decided to relent and keep Whizzer, it was probably too late to make ALL the necessary arrangements to get rid of Shockwave, locate a new coaster there, etc., etc. I could be very wrong, mind you, but it seems that deadlines would be pushed HARD over the Winter....

The chain is still there. I saw it with my own two eyes and the lens of my camera.

To keep up with the times I wonder what they will put in Shock Wave's spot?

SFGAm remove a ride, SF astroworld get a 'new' ride i should think!

I have heard from several sources that have claimed to see the layout that it is not a clone, I don't think it is SFGAm's style (people may disagree because of Batman and Shockwave but we had the first of both of those) And for Viper, so many parks have tried recreating the Cyclone that we can't really gnaw at SFGAm for that.

I went there yesterday and the chain was in on shockwave. I talked to a ride op that I have talked to before. He said that from what he has heard he doubts that a new ride will be put in for next season. He even said that they might just take down the Whizzer next year :(

Well, I didn't like Shockwave at first, but after riding it a few times I started to... so I guess I want it to stay. I hate to see any coaster go. :(

Last time I checked, surveyor marks all around the ride and on every single footer was physical evidence.
