Shockwave question

im glad they kept whizzer.

Whoa! Stop There! Wrong!

its a ride the whole family can enjoy.

Whole family? What about those who hate being BORED!

and for kids who cant ride the big coasters yet.

I think you mean ONLY for kids who cant ride the big coasters yet. It's just an oversised kidde coaster!

Kill Whizzer!!!!!!!!!!

Why do people like starting fights so much?

Now, listen to me.

If a park decides to remove a ride and people get mad because they like the ride, those people might not come back. If there is a ride with no line, people must not like the ride. Therefore no one (just about) will get mad. The park will also benefit from people coming to ride the "Midwest's '1st' flying coaster! X-Flight? What's that?"

I'm a GUY! And you want to pour acid on Shockwave, I want to pour acid on Whizzer.

sorry but sw wasnt a signature ride its been their a while. i liked it but it was too bumpy. and i did get to ride it a few times before they closed it down. they need to take iron wolf down its ok too short and not exciting.

Signature means exclusive to the park.Whizzer is a signature ride and its been there longer than shockwave...Iron wolf not exciting??????? WHAT!!!!! That thing is a car crash. You have no idea where your going next. Its rough sure but still very exciting

swimmerkerv - what does Whizzer have on you? NOTHING. Oh yeah that's right - it's "boring" as you say. Whizzer was one of my first coasters and I can remember how much fun it was. So, maybe to older people, it is boring.. but think of all the little kids and how much fun it is for them. And Shockwave.. well, that thing just flat out hurt like a mofo. It was like being crammed in a metal box in the middle of a 9.5 earthquake.

and fancy - you forgot about complaining about Batman:TR, Raging Bull, Deja Vu and Demon. I mean, what's with those inversions on Batman:TR? And Raging Bull.. why does it have to be so tall? What a total "car crash". And what's up with Deja Vu.. why does it have to do the SAME thing twice? And I can't stand Demon. Why does it have to be black?! JEEZ.

You're the one who's wrong here.

"What about those who hate being BORED!"

Those who hate being bored don't have to ride Whizzer.

People like you need to get a life. If you don't like Whizzer, then DON'T ride it. END OF STORY.

EDIT: Sorry about this guys, I love the Whizzer, Swimmerkev is my brother. Our cookies are doing something.

I hated Whizzer from the beginning. I THOUGHT as a five year old Whizzer replaced Rolling Thunder, my favorite coaster. AND when I got stuck for a 1/2 sitting in the lap of a lady I didn't know that well. I have hated and always will hate Whizzer.

Well if you hate it that much it's located right off the Tristate TROLLway.

Sorry, Im just going by what others told about GASM. I agree with you about puting your head back against the head rest, I did this everytime on SW. I once rode it 34 times in a row and it didn't bang my head around once. IMO this was the best ride in the park, It was tall, fast and had alot of cool Elements to it.

I also agree with you on the head rest. The sign on the loading platform on Shockwave had this #1 rule: "Please keep your head against the head rest." Many people who had complaints about how rough the coaster was didn't even follow this rule—and then they had the nerve to spread the word to other people not to ride it. (You probably could even count the number of times the people who spread the word had ridden the coaster on one hand.)

UPDATE - All track has been removed and all that remains is the loop support structure. I also saw some cement trucks moving around the area. Just thought I would give the update.

okay okay okay! listen everybody! there's no need to fight. all that's going to accomplish is getting the thread closed. you don't have to like every coaster a park has. you don't have to dislike every coaster a park has. but to go to the extremes and bash a ride just because it isn't your favorite is stupid.

please, don't start a flame war just because you don't like a ride. find a better way to express your opinion. now can't we all just get along?

Well it is about time that they start pouring the footers for the new coaster. The rate they are going right now they will be lucky to have it open by October again.

Wanna Ride A Woodie?

MrHaroldG Well said, Not everyone, but a majority of people who rode the SW didn't follow the sign that told them to keep their head back. Most of the time I rode this coaster I saw people holding their heads forward and covering their eyes with their hands not even holding on to the restraints. Then while they weren't holding on to their restraints, they were thrown around in their seat. Alot of my friends did this and then when they got off naged and complained about the ride to the operator and told everyone else not to ride it. IMO the only bad part on SW was the MCB, other then that it was perfectly fine.
I think that Whizzer staying was a good idea, because of little kids and stuff. I still think that it is fun! Plus my 3 year old sister loves it to death. Neways, shockwave was a good choice to leave because yes, there was very low ridership, and the dang thing hurt whether or not you would put your head back! I dont think that anyone should be complaining!!! We r getting an awsome new coaster next year and i am god dong happy as hell about it!!!

Surfs up in Hollister, CA! Later Dudes...

Im not complaing about the flyer at all, I want a flyer badly cause those things rock! I just know that me and many others are angry that SFGAM couldn't be more creative like CP or Indiana beach and have rides intertwine with eachother or anything like that. Plus SW was a favorite to some people.
Heh, Skimmerkev brought up the "point" about how it's boring for older riders. IMO it isn't. It's fun and you don't have to press your body with a huge amount of force against anything to have a good ride. But that isn't my point My point is that he complains about one ride being boring. There are 10 other coasters(s:uf1 ae:2) that are geared for thrill seekers. Whizzer was alot of people's first coaster. (Demon was mine.) People have had alot of cherished memories on the whizzer with their "significant others". I don't remember a time where a couple cherished a ride on shockwave. Give the rest of the agegroups a break and do us all a favor. Quit being so selfish.

Another Update for you Guys:

Shockwave is now completely dismantled. Station structure still appears to be there. Boy does the skyline look like something is missing.

When it comes down to it I think we all know what rides should have been removed for S:UF....... Camp Cartoon NetWork! That place sucks, if you wanna throw acid on anything let it be the Sprocket Rocket and all those other carnie garbage rides. Bring SW back and rip out crap cartoon network :-)

ShokWaveRules and Whizzer Rules!

Yes and then lose all the families who spend money on tickets and merchandise so we can't have any more new rides. Ugh.
