SheiKra (BGT) Construction Update

Just wanted to point out these new construction pictures of BGT's new Dive Machine. Looks like it's moving right along with a lot of the work in the tunnels finishing up as well as the turn to the lift.

3 heavily themed beemers and a GCI. Doesn't get much better than that.

Sure it does: 4 heavily themed beemers and a GCI, or three beemers and two GCI's! ;)

Or one tornado themed Arrow and a GCI in a park with two big breasts and a butterfly

I'm praying that SheiKra will be ready before I leave Orlando on May 20th. PLEASE be done before then (WDW Internship).

You should be in luck. It's a closer one for me, as I'll be there on May 9th or so.

I'd love to see it done in late March, just so I won't feel bad because I won't miss school for it :)

How about a park that has a dueling GCI that actually runs both sides synchronized? That'd be better! :)

Hi everybody. From what I have been able to gather about SheiKra opening is to be the first part of May. Maybe the first week in May. The construction is moving along nicely. There is alot of other work going on at the park along with a new front entrance, new ticket windows and alot of other stuff in the park. It is going to be a big year for the park. As for Gwazi the Dueiling GCI. Busch's website says it is just a mammoth double wooden coaster now. http://www.buschgardens.com/buschgardens/fla/ar_gawazi.aspx

I will be getting more photos of the Sheikra construction site soon hope everybody likes.

The Gwazi change from "dueling" to "double", IIRC, took place in its first or secnd season...Busch's ridiculous answer to complaints about capacity problems on the ride...apparently they haven't been reading my *rants* on the subject for these past 3-4 years, LOL...:)

Hopefully I'll get some additional construction pics of SheiKra, certainly had to get *creative* to find some picture-worthy looks at the construction...;)

edits: First, the construction around the main entrance to the park (by the ticket windows) created MASSIVE confusion and hassle during H-o-S, so I sure hope they have plans to improve guest traffic flow in that area...

Second, the *tunnel* across the raod from the parking lot seemed to be moving along, but given how badly it messed up vehicle traffic in that area, they oughta move a bit faster getting that project done...;)

I'm just praying that it will done by late march/early april during my spring break when my school baseball team is going down their for a tournament. I think i am pushing my luck though. Aw well, even if it isn't open i am not sure if we will have time to go to parks anyway

I'm going to Orlando/Tampa a week from today, if I get the digital camera for Christmas that i've been hoping to get, I'll take pictures and post them somewhere.

Kyle you should be able to take photos. However I will warn you there are not very many places to get photos of the coaster without treaspassing but you should be able to get some good photos. Enjoy your trip. I will be at BGT sometime this week. I will post some more photos of the construction at www.Johnnyupsidedown.com . I will get a couple of photos of the new entrance to the park and some photos of the current colors of Scorpion as the whole area around Scorpion has recieved the same color scheme Orange, Blue and White. More photos and info coming soon as the work continues on SheiKra.
