...Honestly, after one visit, I found SFWoA to be an excellent park, ride-wisen at least, with a line-up that includes: BKF, X-Flight, S:UE, Big Dipper, Villain, and some great flats. To be sure, RWB needs work - BADLY, and Double Loop wasn't much to go head-over-heels about... ...Yes, the park is run in what we'll call the "Six Flags Tradition", dirty and poorly staffed, but I think the park would do just fine if it weren't in the middle of the strongest area, thrill-wise, on the PLANET...
I ALMOST couldn't agree with you more, rollergator. I found the park to be exceptionally well (again as in my previous post.. this was during Fright Fest, so I don't know about any summertime visits).
When I was there, I absolutely did not find it to be dirty in the very least. Everyone rags on how bad the trash cans overflow, and the rudeness of the employees. I paid close attention, and the ground was very clean, the cans were not filled, and... although a FEW bad apples that really make an impression... for the most part, the World of Adventure staff was pretty decent.
They have ten fine rollercoasters. They have decent landscaping. They have an assortment of rides. They have a great kiddie loony-tunes themed section. They have the entire Sea World side...
I don't see how the average park goer... whether be a thrill seeker, child, or even parent... can see this park as feeling bad, looking bad, or managed bad. It sure seem to run a little better than some other Six Flags I've visited!! I wish I honestly knew what was so wrong with the park (again, only visiting during Fright Fest's best days, I don't know what went bizzerk during the summer months).
Kip099: They were running both 1 & 2 trains during those days... so it's a mix of both. When it was 1 train for X-Flight, it was upwards of well over an hour. When it was 2 trains, it was closer to 45 minutes.

You're walking on thin ice with comments like that my friend... what goes on here deserves my attention because it's my job to make sure we maintain a certain standard. Watch your tongue.

When I've been there about a dozen times more than any other park, it justs grows on me to just want to talk about it all the time and associate with things because it's the park I'm most familar with. Is it such a big deal? Jeez! Um, me putting CP down? LMAO!!"
You've illustrated my point precisely, however, in that you say you talk about what you're familiar with. I've been to PKI dozens of times in the last few years, season pass in hand, and I dig the park. But I don't make pointless comparisons every chance I get about the park being better or worse than CP. I've got a hundred better things to do, maybe you should find something better to do as well.
You need to warm up to the fact that if you're going to put your opinion out there in a public forum, you need to be prepared to defend it without name calling and nonsense posts. Your opinion thus far has been little more than a tactful "CP sucks" approach. If you think that, fine, defend it and be ready to respond to criticism. If you can't do that, I'd respectfully invite you to frequent some other site.

I went on one of the last days and it rained a little before the park opened. I asked at Guest Relations and they said there were only 800 people in the park. I loved it! :)

Well, tell that to my wife and kids. Despite having season passes to Six Flags, they still refused to go back after our day there. You see, whether or not it was SFWoA's fault, the prevailing memory of the place was the ubiquitous stench from the sewers backing up.

Um, maybe you could help me with this onem because I really don't get it:
1)True, I probably shouldn't have said my bold line above, because I could be percieved as being more rude than the sort of "laid back" screw it, as in, you shouldn't really care, but I do apologize because you could take it a different way.
2)I make comparisons usually when I see they're asked for but I will take your advice and look back to see how often I do this. I just don't think this is a good arguement since well, they are parks, and there's a whole forum and site you have GTTP, that's all about Cedar Point, but does anyone get flamed if they talk about it all the time? Granted, this isn't the Ohioan Amusement Park thread, I do respond on pretty much anything I know how to. Sorry, if all you see is when I have PKI in every thread. Oh yeah, it's only in my signature all the time. Where else could it be? Someone tell me when they find Waldo too.
3)Oh, baby I'm prepared to defend my posts! Where I am mentally at that point, I never regret what I say or I wouldn't frickin say it.
4)You have to understand that I'm a person who likes to joke and be sarcastic a lot and perhaps I can be a little rude with it sometimes, but I'll try to take more notice to that. But where is name-calling and nonsense? Defend that, why don't you. If I really wanted to say CP sucks. There's a lot of simpler ways. Like flat at saying it.
5) My opinion compared to a tactful CP sucks approach? Ok, first they don't suck. They're one of my favorite amusement parks, but I just get tired of all this happy CP "It's a Small World and CP's the #1 in it after all". All of those people say they can never do wrong and then I come back and say where I think they have or haven't. It's my opinion. I defend it. Can I not say it, because it's something bad about CP? Or I can't defend it? I'm thinking it must be the first for most people being annoying about. I've said several times before that I'm excited about Snoopy on Ice, because I really love their shows, so obviously I don't just want to squish them with every word in the dictionary.

If you Ohioans aren't real impressed with SFWoA, we'll trade you even-up, SeaWorld (FL) for SFWoA....didn't think so!
I missed this the first time so...Oooo oooo!!! Me!! I'll trade you! Unlike most of the buzzers here, I happen to enjoy full-fledged theme parks like Disney World, Universal, IOA, Disneyland, Dollywood, Holiday World, Busch, etc. much more than simple mainly ride parks like Cedar Fair, Six Flags, Paramount, etc. Since, these parks are mentioned few and far between, my only option really is to talk about PKI and CP. I have nothing else to talk about opinionatedly since few of the SF parks I've been to are repeatedly talked about and I've never been to another Paramount Park. So, tell me, what other choices do I have? Would you rather me make crap up and pretend I know something about some other park mentioned and have absolutely no clue what I'm talking about? Didn''t think so. It would be a waste of my time and yours.

Of course SFWoA is better run than most other Six Flags parks. Otherwise it wouldn't even be open anymore. With PKI and CP are 3 hours away, it has to be MUCH better run than an average Six Flags park to be competitive. And a one bad apple is all it takes to make a bad day for most people.
By the way, I agree with KoasterKing as far as everybody here worshiping CP. It is not perfect and I wish that a lot of people would stop thinking it is. Although it is a great park, and generally well run, it is not the best park in the world (or even the state) and I am sorta sick of people acting like it is.

Well, with a park that is supposed to be in the "Big Boys" status(SFWOA), it sure isnt showing with only 1.5 million people entering the gate and I am sure that figure includes season pass holders entering multiple times during the season. Either they get their act together to draw more customers or the future of that park is in jeopardy.-----------------
""An hour wait for a 2 minute thrill. Yes, we need our heads examined""
To say that Cedar Point is worshiped on this site is a bit ludicrous. Of course the largest and most well known coaster park east of the Mississippi is going to have a huge fan base and many of those people are on this site. The best fans, however, can compliment and criticize with a fair eye.
I, for one, didn't jump up and down and say, "yeah, Wicked Twisters, another star attraction for the best park in the world." I would say it will be a nice ride but it sure doesn't wow me like the announcements for Raptor, Mantis, MF, etc did.
I will read and respect the thoughts of those people on this site who have something constructive to say. The rest of you are just blowing smoke, in my humble opinion.
