SFWOA attendance

What was SFWOA's attendance this year?
I'm just going to make a prediction here and say that most likely PKI was the number one park attendance wise in Ohio with around 3.4 million and CP just under that. I would say SFWoA had around a little over 2 million visitors.

Go lower with SFWOA... a lot lower. You'll never hear actual numbers, but I know of some solid research that indicates something more around 1.5 million.

Thats not good. A park that has pumped so much money into it with a 1.5 million turnout doesnt bode well. The future for SFWOA better see an increase in attendance.

Whoa! I figured they would be a little closer to 2 with all their marketing crap this year, but I guess it's out, SFWoA is a poorly managed theme park and obviously not worth what they're charging. The WildLife side is piss poor even compared to the Sea World gift shop at the Orlando airport. What a shame.

I'm glad PKI passed by a return of an animal/ sealife land addition within seconds of debate for it. Since, it's down the tubes already I guess I can say it. I'm glad PKI really showed this year how they're truly the King of Hearts. SFWoA isn't even in the deck. Sadly, CP went from Ace of Spades to Joker. The new Ace line-up? IOA, BGW, KW, and BGT.

What's your constant obsession with plugging PKI and putting down CP every chance you get? I wouldn't even call them strict competitors for anyone outside of Columbus. I for one am happy to have three outstanding amusement parks in the same state. I just find it unfortunate that one of the three isn't run particularly well.

Although I agree with you KoasterKing that PKI is better than CP, who cares?  They're both outstanding parks.  You should be thrilled that two of the top five adult parks in the country are in your state.  Rather than rip on the lesser of the two, rejoice that there ARE two greats in Ohio.  As for SFWoA, I don't think it's anything special, but hey, it has decent coasters in it, which makes it good in my book.  Even if it does have bad management.
SFWoA never has lines, only on special days there are.The lines are actualy usualy 15minutes max on any old day.Good thing for me:)
Try SF's fright fest. Walkons on everything, even X-Flight!

No kidding!!!!  You should thank your lucky stars that there are two great parks like PKI and CP in Ohio.  Parks that are both spending millions on park improvements and new rides next year.  No one is going to be "toast" or whatever.

(Not in reference to a single person) I realize that some folks will always think that a certain park can do no wrong, and others can only do wrong, no matter how far from the truth it is.......I just wish there was less of it and more constructive conversation.  I sometimes can't believe how fast a thread like that this that asked a simple legitimate question can be infiltrated by park/coaster bashing.

If you Ohioans aren't real impressed with SFWoA, we'll trade you even-up, SeaWorld (FL) for SFWoA....didn't think so!  Honestly, after one visit, I found SFWoA to be an excellent park, ride-wisen at least, with a line-up that includes:  BKF, X-Flight, S:UE, Big Dipper, Villain, and some great flats.  To be sure, RWB needs work - BADLY, and Double Loop wasn't much to go head-over-heels about (sorry for the pun).  But overall, I'd take this park in FL anyday!  Yes, the park is run in what we'll call the "Six Flags Tradition", dirty and poorly staffed, but I think the park would do just fine if it weren't in the middle of the strongest area, thrill-wise, on the PLANET...SF just wants to put a serious dent in the competition in their own backyard - both CF and Paramount call Ohio home...

Geauga Lake (Aurora, Ohio), 1.2 million.

2000-
Six Flags Ohio, formerly Geauga Lake did not make the top 20, but did claim the largest increase for 2000. Attendance at the newly branded Six Flags Park rose a remarkable 42%

Assuming that, at a 42% increase, that would make it about 1.7 million for 2000.

With that said, considering they took Seaworld as their own, I would assume they would at least stay the same, if not go up a little bit in attendance... but thats just a guess.

Yeah, and Columbus is a pretty damn big city. It's just that PKI's my favorite park. I like to talk about it. Screw it, if you don't like it. Don't pay attention. When I've been there about a dozen times more than any other park, it justs grows on me to just want to talk about it all the time and associate with things because it's the park I'm most familar with. Is it such a big deal? Jeez! Um, me putting CP down? LMAO!! They did it to themselves. The Joker is my explanation of them joking themselves businesswise with their latest coaster decision and semi-lying about a record, but that's my opinion and does it really matter to you?

Yes, ravenguy, I do have a chart. The Seven of Spades would be, well, it should be a pretty decent one! Oh, heck. Let's just do an All-American Ohio/Northern Kentucky round-up and let it be SFKK for it's "seven" coasters. Brought to you by Spam! The number one food distributor for Six Flags, Inc. Spam: We're number one for something!
Peabody, it was just a joke, but I guess we all have to be serious when it comes to the even-so threatening world of amusement parks and especially *gasp* CP!! I think I just figured out why I rat on them so much. All the people the love them so much remind me of a cross between Lemmings and those zombies that try to come after you if you don't go along with them. They're much more hostile than any Mountainers I've talked with, so perhaps that "furthens" it.  That gets annoying, so I like to put my equal share back in the game. Je gagne!

I hate to burst your bubble, Bigkirby, but that is totally false. I was there twice during their Fright Fest. Once towards the beginning, and once during the middle. Both were 70 degree & Sunny days on a Saturday.
X-Flight had at LEAST an hour wait during the day, and even longer at night. Villian had a 30 or so minute wait as well. Batman had about a 15 minute wait, and Big Dipper had close to a 20 minute wait.
I wouldn't exactly call those walk-ons.
Only when they first opened and were about to close was everything near walk-ons.

Sorry if you missed it the first 893 times, buddy, but my screen name is ravengUy!  With a U!  whodathunkit?

Are you talking to me? I meant to make that french. Am...I....missing something?

[edit] Ok, it's fixed. I had no clue what you were talking about at first, but my bad. Sorry raven.

The toast thing was suppose to be referring more toward attendance and how the "Inferno" thing would bring PKI back to #1 in Ohio, but that signature is OOOLLLLLDDDDDD. I just realised that it had already come true this year and the new ride isn't even inferno which is ironic. Maybe the fire came from RRR and 7th Portal? Hoo wood of knewed??

Were those lines that long because the park was busy, or because they were only running one train???
