SFOG is just killing me!!!

Does it seem odd SFOG hasn't announce what they'll be getting for the 2001 season? I mean most other SF parks have already announced what there getting. There has also been talk of other SF parks getting new coasters back to back years. SFOG has gone a year without a new ride. Besides look at their last ride... the Scorcher. That has got to be the shortest B&M. I just am really hoping for an intamin hyper since there arent any coasters close to 200ft. in the south.

Six Flags has only announced the SFOT Titan, and Nitro for SFGAdv. All others are still not talking. Including SFMM.

So you want a coaster in your backyard? I hope you have a big backyard.
I'm not sure of what SF(I think it's Six Flags Great America) park but what about the impulse and super invertigo?

While everyone and their grandmother knows that SFGAd is getting a B&M Megacoaster next year, they have not announced anything yet. The only park to officially announce anything for the 2001 season, for all I know (which isn't much ;)), is SFoT with Titan. SFGAm has had the meetings but still no announcement.

Oh, and by the way mfcrazyrider, it's spelled "Millennium Force." :) I figured, since it's your namesake, you might want to know that.

mfcrazyrider,

Yeah, SFGAm is getting two new inverted shuttle coasters (impulse and SuperInvertigo). They, however, have only been approved by the city, not formally announced. This means that the park has permission to build them.

Well, the park I work for has managed to add 4 coasters in the past 5 years, we are not a Six Flags, never had a press conference, and I'll be damned, people still show up. Independents must side step that horrific arms race since we enjoy purchasing rides that operate, and do not have down time due to staff shortages or parts problems or some other B.S. Six Flags excuse. Build it, run it, be safe, move on. Don't build it, tell the world, let collect dust, charge $13 to park, etc......
I think I have it!!!! Big Chiefs Kart and Coaster World. That's where you work right Agent Johnson?
Sorry to be off topic....

Sorry, I do not reside in the land of great cheeses.
Agent Johnson lives in the land of michigan. MIAdventure has gotten Zach's Zoomer in 94, Shivering Timbers in 98, Big Dipper and Mad Mouse in 99. Do I win free tickets now? ;) *** This post was edited by scamsdad on 11/29/2000. ***
'94 isn't in the past five years... that's six years ago...
But did they get any trees? ;)

I am praying for an Intamin hyper. That would be the most logical choice for SFOG. They desperately need a hyper. There were also rumors going around that they may build a floorless. I hope this is not the case. Floorless coasters do not appeal to me at all. Maybe that is because I do not stare at my feet when I am riding a coaster. Besides, SFOG already has enough looping coasters. They don't need a new one anytime soon. If it were up to me, they would get an Intamin hyper this year. I don't even care if it is a clone of Superman(although I would prefer an original design). I just hope they get one. The next coaster they build after that should be a killer CCI woodie. The Six Flags chain needs to build more CCI's!!!!!!! *** This post was edited by Buzzo on 11/29/2000. ***
That is my first choice too Buzzo. I love those intamin hyper/giga cars. The only thing I dont get is that I went by the park last week and there was absolutley nothing going on in the parking lot behind Batman where I hear rumors it would go. Also there was no visible track.

No, no auto world for me scamsdad. Though, I do know that park owner. I was at SFG for IAAPA, but I saw no construction, but it was raining and a bit dark. That Georgia Cyclone is great, but I will make friends here, but that Scorcher was a LDR. I would not wait more than 10 minutes for that ride. I reaally wanted to ride that shuttle loop, but they slide in the rain, and it was closed.
I would imagine that most of the Six Flags announcements will be coming very soon. They'll want to have enough time to advertise the new rides before the season begins.

Agent Johnson-
Is your park Hershey?

What does LDR stand for?
Lame Duck Ride. Only we call it something else. Definition--I would not make a special trip to that park to ride that particular attraction. *** This post was edited by Agent Johnson on 11/29/2000. ***
I've never heard anyone not like the Ga Scorcher that much! Most I've seen about it gives praise. SFoG rumors seem to have been around fairly thick all summer, with lots of people saying they had walked the grounds and sightings of land markings , etc. Someone said here once that this park's investors (or management, owners, whoever) had filed suit because their park never got the "new" technology when they did end up getting new things. Anyone know about this? I think it stems from the earlier part of the '90s. Anyways, they need to announce before I plan the spring trip, if they announce in time, I get to add SFoG into my honeymoon. They announce nothing new, the fiance will not let me go until the end of the season.

I pulled an article out of a local newspaper regarding SFGAM's 2001 plans and it stated that SFGAM will announce the names of the new coasters sometime in 2001. FYI
