SFMM to announce 2003 addition : 11/14

http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories.pl?ACCT=104&STORY=/www/story/11-12-2002/0001839944&EDATE=

Hmm. Seems like they're using the same corny ploy as Cedar Point did in 2001 with Wicked Twister.

"Breaking its own world record of having the most coasters in the world!" - CP

"Shattering its own world record of having the most coasters worldwide!" - SFMM

LOL

Boy you really have a thing against CP... I'm too lazy to bring up your last posts, but I think others get the hint.

Anyways, I'm glad SFMM is getting another ride, a coaster is better than no coaster at all. :)

"How's your balls feel?"
Parks this year: 35
Beatings from Kara: lost count at 2,504

Can't they just say they are tied? Jeez, what a bunch of record hogs. ;)

The top 3 all time cobrarolls.

1)Raptor's
2)Deja Vu's (times 3)
3)Batman Knight Flight's

Um. Right. I have a thing against CP because? I'd like to have you know that I've been to both parks and find Cedar Point to be the better of the two. In my post, I was just saying how BOTH parks (see how it is not just attacking one and not the other) are using the same cheesy catch line when we all know they are tied and didn't break their own record for crap!

But nothing, and I mean *nothing* can have a worse name than SFMM's new coaster... Worse than X and even Superman Tower of Power.

Uh oh... Let the speculation begin... ;)

I have heard the same too. Something along the lines of "Scream" or something. Oh lordy let's hope it's nowhere near that bad...lol

Scream... Well at least it is original. As lame as I think that name is, as long as the ride is fun, its no big deal.

I wonder how many inversions this ride will have. I am going way out on a limb here, but it would be incredible for it to be a record breaker in that category.

I am interested to hear more about this one.... Though I would have rather had a flyer! :)

CoasterFanMatt -

Eh...not original in a sense. Six Flags Fiesta Texas' and Six Flags New England's two S&S towers go by the name Scream!

Who's up for Joker: The Escape?

Hmm....or they could always put all DC comic names at the park together, something along the lines of...Batman: Superman's Revenge. I think that's too cheesy, even for Six Flags.

-----------------
Is it a dream or a memory? It's both, it's X

I was thinking about that. And we can't even beging to consider the other rides that have scream as a part of their name... California Screamin', Scandia Screamer, Supreme Scream. And those are all in So Cal!

Even so, it is much better than Nitro or some other name like that.

0-82 in 2.3 seconds! =Wow!

Believe me, Nitro sounds a WHOLE LOT better than anything "Scream."

I think the name fits. They'll be quite a bit of screaming on announcement day.

"The name sucks"!

"It's a cheap coaster just to get the record"!

"How could SFMM get another coaster"!?

"Superman isn't a rollercoaster, CP Rulez"!

You know, the same thing that happens every year. ;)

"Escuse me, can you tell me where the heck the Mystery Lodge is"?

OK.. heres the deal.. SFMM will not have more, they will be tied.. but, if you minus the reverse demon drop, they will behind one coaster, and even if MM had more... I was there last year.. the park is dirty the ops are rude, and the rides are not laid out as well. BM.. no comparison to Raptor... Goliath no Magnum or MIllie.. the woodie.. not bad.. but honestly I liked Blue streak better... not as rough and I thought less air... ( had a broken rib in LA) The only coaster I though was better than any CP had was Revolution... Believe it or not, I thought that a great ride.. Very different... But on a 1-10.. cp.. 10... ANY SF park.. 6-7 if they are lucky.. ALL DIRTY! AND RUDE!

Revolution: SBNO

SFMM: 15(including new one)

CP: 16 (running, including new one, which will open when they say it will not when they finally get the ride right.)

sorry for the runnnnon, thought i might finish without caps

Faster Faster - What are you talking about? Revolution has been up and running all year. The only coaster that isn't currently operating is Flashback.

Anyways, I'm sure we are going to see lots of complaints once the ride is announced (about both the name and the layout), but it should be a great addition to the park.

To CozterNut,

First, I'm from Ohio but currently live between the two cities LA and Columbus...I'm saying that to let you know their is no bias towards either park...Superman is a coaster....I prefer with many others BM over Raptor...I like Goliath more than Millie but not Magnum....Neither park has great wood....The Revolution is in the worst condition it's ever been in and is probably one of the worst coasters at the park...The ride ops are no worse than Knotts which is a Cedar Fair Property saying the ride ops just reflect the people/real city that it's near...When I was their and I'm their several times a year the park was not dirty...

However, they do have a tendency to never run all their coasters...

Saying all of that some people need to quit hating on either park...Both are very good parks for coasters and they are raising the level of competition...Just to let you know I prefer CP over MM but not for any of the reasons you mentioned above...

"Scream" makes sense as it does appear in that website. Mentions something about SFMM's "Scream" Machine. On teh subject of "X" I think the name is fine, and the ride itslef kicks butt...

-Mikey

Ok if the name is scream, it better be something more than a clone of Medusa. Otherwise, someone's going to have egg on their faces.....

Art, Art, Art, everyone wants it, some need it, most don't want to pay for it.

Flashback hasn't been open since April, despite the waterpark closing down a few months ago.
