SFKK's Twisted Sisters name change.

"What is THAT?!?!?! A Twwwisted Twwins Pinn!!"

That just doesn't work. Maybe we can get Needemeyer down to Kentucky to kicks their assets. Or we can just make them listen to Flounder talk for an hour. ("Oh Boy Is This Great!")

Could it be that the park doesn't want to be considered sexist?

I was just reading my AP stylebook, and under the "hurricane" entry, it says to avoid using stereotypical words to describe hurricanes that are named after women. For example, "Hurricane Hazel teased the East Coast." Maybe reporters were doing this with TS and the park got annoyed??

It's a longshot, I know.

I could always go ask him. He (the actor who played him) runs a restaurant in the Milwaukee area. :)

The whole name changes sounds like the political correctness elves have hit again.

Sean F. - That was hilarious.

Now, would you rather be remembered long-term for being in a band that is garbage, or short-term for being in a band called Garbage?

Perhaps someone should contact SFKK PR department and ask what their "reasoning" was for changing the name. It seems rather peculiar to change it so slightly if their wasnt a legality involved.

I've traded in my 2000 Giovanola for a 2002 Arrow X4D :)
My other car is now an Arrow X4D!

Well I liked Twisted Sister and defended them in this thread but I do have to admit my 7 year old could have written We're not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock(their biggest hits)

Also they are not the 2nd greatest hair band of all time(VH1 coutdown hosted oddly enough by Dee Snyder) I wouldnt even put them in the top 10

I do however feel they had something to do with this name change

I'm guessing that too many people were coming to the park expecting to ride TS with Dee Snider and SFKK is not gonna take it anymore!

Nah... Dee Snider's no Lars Ulrich. :)

Ozzyhead,

I was shocked at the FF news also. They were my favorite 'extreme' band. Easily the tightest band I have heard. I just bought their DVD the day it came out a few weeks ago.

Back on the topic oc Twisted.....................something or another.

I know the coasters can give good rides. Back in 1998, I (as well as a few others) took 113 laps between them in one day. It still remains one my best coaster memories.

I went to the park last year but didn't care to ride anything that day (coaster hangover from the night before) so it sounds like I missed out on the bad rides it was giving last year.

-Sean (who actually won a Twisted Sisters shirt)

I cannot see the reasoning for such a name change. I personally liked the name Twisted Sisters and well to put it simply the name "Twisted Twins" seems like just a darn silly name. It makes me laugh just saying it.

WOW! I think its the first park to have two rides with the same name! T2 and T2

Keep in mind that Garbage's legacy is far from over yet. Twisted Sister has been "has beens" for a while now (by the way, I did like them...uh, when I was 13 !) Also don't forget that Butch Vig of Garbage will likely be a lot more memorable in rock history even if Garbage had never existed, as the producer of Nirvana's "Nevermind", and countless other albums which will be remembered as classics of the end of the 20th century.

What's Dee Snider doing now ? Last I remember, he was involved with B Horror movies...and not even good ones, at that.

On topic, the name change sucks. They definitely could have thought of something better than "Twisted Twins". The coasters aren't identical, are they ? Yeah, I know twins don't have to be identical either, but identical is what comes to mind when you hear the word "twin". Double Trouble would have been a much better name...or how about Twisted Timbers (except they have a steel structure)...anything but Twisted Twins. Lame (almost as lame as Twisted Sister the band ! haha, j/k !)

I was also shocked. It's really ironic, because I had listened to Digimortal in it's entirety (first time in a long time) just 2 hours before I heard the news. I was looking at the FF poster in my room as I heard the news. I think FF will only break up temporarily, because the problem is between Burt and Dino. It'll be resolved. Theres already an unrleased material cd on its way, and I expect a full tour within 3 years. It just doesn't seem final to me. (denial?)

Actually, Dee Snider had a successful radio show going in the San Fran area and was recently hired to do all of the voice-over work for, get this, MSNBC!

Sean and Ozzyhead,

I had heard a new song from Fear Factory. It was on Music Choice for Time Warner Cable and it is off of their upcoming new album. So it looks like Dino and Burton settled their differnces then. I can't remember what the new album is called. No it isn't Digimortal either since I already have it. Now let's get back to talking coasters.
