SFGreat America Rides for 2001

Very true, Chitown. That does make sense. It will just be the first park without a DC face-lift or section. Maybe it's time for SF to take their parks in a different direction. Where was the Whirligig before? And what type of ride is it? A scrambler?
The Whirligig was over by the Yankee Clipper. It is being moved to make way for the Intamin Impulse coaster(Vertical Velocity???). I am bad with flat ride general names but it is one of those swinging chair type rides.

Is it officially Vertical Velocity????
hopefully SF is starting to drop the whole superhero gig and focus on names like V2 and deja vu. the parks that come to mind are SFGA SFMW and SFOG. by that i mean their parks like SFOT and SFMM are the "superhero" parks and parks like SFGA only have one or two. my homepark is SFMW and i like the non-superhero names. *** This post was edited by hypersonic on 2/19/2001. ***

That's too bad that they can't think of an original name.

Explain to me how SFGAm is not coming up with original names? The 2 names (Deja Vu and Vertical Velocity) are original because the other parks with these names are opening their coasters in the same year. So technically if SFGAm uses these names they are still considered originals(along with some other parks).

You really can have only one original. Saying that both V2s were the original coaster with that name is like saying Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan were the original James Bond.

How do you know that SFGAm might not name one of their new rides Superman?? It still has not been released. :)

The Raging Bull #1!!
Maybe they are saving the Superman name for the rumored floorless as well.

As for the names of the coasters, it really doesn't matter as long as the rides are built. If they want to reuse a name, fine, as long as they don't reuse it within the same park (SFGAdv).
Also six flags isn't the only culprit in name recycling (wildcat, cyclone, comet, wild mouse, corkscrew, boomerang - these coasters are everywhere and not just six flags).

75 more days until SFGAm opens! *** This post was edited by inverted_one on 2/19/2001. ***
