SFGreat America Rides for 2001

I posted this question a while back, but no one answered, as far as I know. Anyone know if the second coaster at the park this year is an Invertigo or a copy of Deja-Vu that SFMM is getting this year? I know that this one is going where the SkyWhirl was, but where is the Impulse going?
The Impulse is going where Whirligig was and between the flume rides. Whirligig is moved to where the Batmobile was in front of Batman: the ride.

The 2nd is a super-invertigo.

I don't know if it is an exact clone of deja-vu or what.
SFGAm Deja-Vu is the same as the one in SFMM.

The Raging Bull #1!!
Cool. I hadn't heard that it was to be named 'Deja-Vu'.
Until the park themselves release the names of the 2 new coasters, nothing is confirmed yet.

It's got to be Vekoma, I think they have more on their plate than normal. All the Vekoma coaster parts are arriving a little late it seems. This could be normal, though... I don't know their time frame.
There is no offical name for any of the coasters yet. I don't think they will be their original names because SFGAm has never had a problem with names, excpet for Viper that is...

Millennium is spelled with two N's ;)
people at urc are reporting that they've recieved group sales books that reveals the names as ...

Deja Vu and V2
That's too bad that they can't think of an original name.:(

SFGA2001 says:

That's too bad that they can't think of an original name.

Explain to me how SFGAm is not coming up with original names? The 2 names (Deja Vu and Vertical Velocity) are original because the other parks with these names are opening their coasters in the same year. So technically if SFGAm uses these names they are still considered originals(along with some other parks).

i agree with sfga2001 if SFGA does decide to name there coasters deja vu and vertical velocity it kinda ruins the originality of V2 but then again we're talkin about six flags arent we.
To put it in a nutshell, "WHO CARES?". Does it ruin the experience of the ride? No, it doesnt.

I'd rather have Six Flags use the same names for the same rides than use the same name for different rides( Viper comes to mind).
As Chitown said who cares the ride will still be just as good no matter what their names are.

Get wrapped in the coils of Viper at SFGAm.
Yes, the ride will still be good. The name will not change how well it runs. But now someone will say "Deja Vu was broken down today", and nobody will know which one they are talking about. It gets really confusing. I just think with all the possibilities of a name, they could think of 3 different names. I'm still happy that Great America is getting 2 new coasters. I just think they could have named them better. That's all.

I think it would be really neat if they named the Impulse like 'The Next Tidal Wave' or 'Another Tidal Wave' and give it a blue color scheme.

That would fit in with the territory it is in too.

Is V2 official???
I like the idea of them naming one of the new rides after the Tidal Wave, in fact it's such a good idea I'm sure it never occured to anyone at Six Flags. I think maybe "The Next Wave" would have been a cool name that doesn't really depend on people remembering the old ride. I was really surprised the Impulse was named V2 instread of Supermab Ultimate Escape since SFGAm doesn't have a Superman themed ride. Also, I think the GP would have bought more SUE shirts than V2 shirts. This has caused me to come up with an outlandish theory, could SFGAm be getting a Superman themed Flying Dutchman next year? The only other reason I can think of for the Impulse's name is that Ohio is relatively close, but still I have to believe that they're just itching to sell Superman stuff at SFGAm. Also, I believe someone recently brought up the fact that Six Flags bought 3 Flying Dutchmen but it still looks like only two are being put into parks this year. I just want to make sure none of you thinkl I have any inside information, this is just a case of me taking two unrelated pieces of information and taking a hopeful leap with them.

I must agree about the Superman theory. I know the third Flying Dutchman is going to Fiesta Texas, but you're very right. Great America needs a Superman coaster. I thought that the Impulse cwould be called Superman, also, but oh well. They do have lots of Superman merchandise at the park, over in the shop near B:TR. But with the park getting two new coasters, albeit both non-circuit coasters, I doubt they will get another next year. But with MM getting all it's getting this year, and all Ohio got last year, we could be in for a big surprise! I'd almost rather have an Arrow/x coaster themed as Superman, than the Flying Dutchman. Maybe?
I dont think SFGAm has ever really wanted to focus on a DC Comics themed area. All you have there is Batman:TR, a gift shop, and the Batmobile which by the way has now been removed to make way for the Whirligig. If they did want to make an area for DC they would have re-themed the East River Crawler, re-created the restaurant that serves Italian food(which by the way makes no sense because the restaurant is still themed from when it served seafood) and re-theme the Whirligig when it goes into its new location. All of this points to a decision by the park not to expand the DC Comics theming.
