redman822 has a point but if you really cheap as myself you'll park across the street and walk in.
Where can you park across the street legally? The only parking around SFGAm that I know of is in mall lots and you risk getting towed. Let me in on your secret.

I know that this is a problem at a lot of parks, but the higher quality parks have been able to address this issue. If Great America ever wants to step up to the ranks of a world class park, this is a mandatory issue that needs immediate attention. You can throw all the rides you want into a park, but if you don’t have the staff, it doesn’t do jack squat.
Also, I’m not knocking the ride staff. Most of the time the ride opp’s at Great America have been great, the problem it there’s never enough to run the park on busy days.

Gas $15 round trip(thats a low # for 11 hours of driving), $10 to eat(10 hours driving and 2 hours in park is a lot of time not to eat) and $7 to park. That comes out to $32 the pass for SFGaM is $91 subtract $32 and I come out with $58 and the park around $50 you have saved $8 for 11 hours worth of work, not that big of savings if you ask me.

Example: I live in Chicago, but will buy my SF pass at SFoG for $49.99. If saving $40 was the only reason I was going to Atlanta to buy my pass, you're right: it's a losing proposition. I'm spending $130 in airfare, plus money on food, etc. There's no hotel costs involved, because I'm staying with friends. I'm actually spending more than I'm saving. However, I was planning on going to SFoG anyway in March, as I have good friends in Atlanta that I will be visiting. The cheap passes are just a bonus for us.
Actually, I know I am not saving money by going to SStl in a sense. I have, however, for several years now, wanted to see SStl. This is the excuse I have been waiting for. I will get my season pass at a discount and I will get to see a park that I have been wanting to see and travel to at the same time

I go on weekend trips all the time. Yes you do spend money on gas but I also go with other people and we all split the gas, so on a trip to WOFand SFSTL it comes out between $10-$20 depending on what car we take. We all love coasters and plan to go to the parks at least once per season. So driving a few hours for a weekend of fun with friends and save money on passes sounds better than staying at home looking at a closed over priced park.
Good *frickin* grief! I mean, I always knew that CoasterBuzz was filled with Six Flags Haters, but the depth of the animosity is mindblowing! Even at the large price of 90 even a 100 dollars, a SFGAm pass is a GREAT value, especially for a so-called enthusiast. Where else can you get more parks at your disposal? The only other place is at a different Six Flags. But that's okay. What you *might* save on the pass, you will make up on the parking. Oh, and if you buy the pass at another park, do you think that SF corporate *really* cares? Either way, they have some of your money. Hey, and even if you do not spend another DIME in any of their parks, every time you step though the gates you make money for them. Why you ask? Because with every extra person that's in the park, they can report that to advertisers. Why else do you think that there are so many "commericals" in the parks? (on the rides, in the brochures, on the cups, etc.).
You are only fooling yourselves!

Seasonpass to CP$90 seasonpass at WOF$60 savings$30
Seasonpass to SFGAm$92 seasonpass at SFSTL$67(I'm getting mine at SFOG but for this demo SFSTL) savings$25
You save $55 just on passes now I'm not saving everyone is located where I am but I figure I spend $15 on gas and $10 on a hotel thats $25 to go to two other parks and ride. I'll still have saved $30. So for me it makes sense to do that.

I will go to at least 15-20 parks this summer, and I don’t think that Great America will be one of them. I just want people to realize that there is a problem with the management at the park (and by the way I never have worked at the park, so this is not a management get back at bash sort of thing). The park has MAJOR problems that need to be addressed.
I have grown up with this park, and have seen the good and the bad. I really love Great America, and just want to see the problems fixed.

Now I dont know when *you* go to the park, or if something DRASTIC happened in 2001, but everytime *I've* been there, the service has been more than adequate. Capacity was never a problem. I *really* dont know where you are coming from. With the exception of Iron Wolf (standups seem to be inherently stack-likely) and perhaps Whizzer (have not ridden that in several years) I consistantly see the crews pumping out the trains.
It sounds like you are on some old personal ish and I cant help you with that. Maybe I'm just jaded and dont see all the troubles. But here, I'll trade you: My six Flags for your Six Flags. I'll take 'the great one' and you can just have 'America'.

Now I am not a Six Flags hater by any means. I am simply pointing out that SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA DOESN’T CARE ABOUT ITS SEASON PASS HOLDERS!!! \"
Dude ! A discount is a discount ! If I paid full price to go to SFGAm as many times as I did this last year, I would have sepnt over $500 ! Not to mention my 2 trips to SFStL (I was supposed to go to SFWoA too, but chose CP instead).
If you are not happy with the price of a season pass PAY FULL PRICE, and keep quiet.
Better yet, get a job there and then you can get a season pass for free, AND help ease the capacity problems ;)

First, it says your from the DC area, how may times have you gone to Great America over the last 5 years. Being from the area, I’ve been there over 50 times, I think I’m qualified to make the above statements, and say that they are accurate.
The only times that I have seen ANYONE at Great America do something about LINE JUMPERS, is when Bull opened. Go any busy day, you’ll see the line jumpers jumping away. Smokers, there all over, and when there in line, nobody does anything, because nobody is watching the lines BECAUSE THERE ISNT ENOUGH STAFF!!!
What multiple flat rides has the park installed ? An up charge trampoline? The only addition of flat rides (besides kiddy rides) was when bull opened back in 99, and the added two. They have removed more than added over the last few years.
About the two coasters, they further emphasize my point. The coasters are great, but they do absolutely nothing to address the CAPACITY issues that the park has. When you can only get 300 pph in and out of the ride, that’s a problem. The wait for V2 was usually 2 hours+, and they were dispatching trains every 5-8 minutes. Lets not even talk about DejaVu.
Theming, well I have to say its pretty good (especially for a Six Flags Park), but that’s not the problem were talking about.
Yes the park does have a good mix (although lacking in the flat ride department), and the shows are good, that’s again not the point. STAFFING MAKES OR BREAKS A PARK. On days when no one’s at the park, everyone is happy. But when the park is getting towards capacity, there is serious problems. Not to mention that half of the flat rides for the last two or year were not operational, or were open on a limited schedule.
I’m sorry that America is not to your liking, however Great America has always been a wonderful park from day one (Back in Marriott time). I have seen the good and the bad happen at the park for the last fifteen years. There have been a lot of good things go into this park don’t get me wrong. We have a world class park here, and the Management doesn’t treat there season pass holders with any additional respect due, plus all of the other issues that have been mentioned.
And by the way spacecase, try to add a little more intelligence to your posts.

As for DelayJa Vu, I cannot make any comments on that because I was never there after it (finally) opened.
All in all I think the park is managed adequately, it has its share of rough spots, but there are more "shiny" spots that keep me happy that it is my home park.
