SFGAm S:UF-Entrance

I have benn asking this in other forums and haven't gotten an answer: Will there be the entrance like the S:UF at SFOG and SFGadv at SFGAm's S:UF. Here's what I mean: http://www.sixflagsnews.com/Superman%20Pics%2017-1.jpg Will that be there? I hope so cause I've been hearing no and that really sucks. I will be at the processing tomorrow but I still want to know now. tx!

I seriously doubt it. Considering the narrow entrance that Shockwave had, I dont believe they will construct this entrance. They dont have the room in the front.

I hope they do something, I also hope that the line doesnt start where Shockwave's started. S:UF is too far from the path, it will be barely visible! Chitown, are you going to take pictures tomorow and what time would they be posted if you do?

"Hey, that looks like Princess Diana. Oh wait, it's just a pile of rags."

I will be there to see how everything is going tomorrow at the processing but I dont have a camera. I will see some of what's going on though.

The entrance looks like it will be nice. They only had the cement facade in place (with a few steel supports in place). Though the building you enter the queue through has been partially repainted and looks....interesting. I don't know how well you will be able to see the new paint job from carousel plaza, and I don't think they'll be letting you near the entrance....I could be wrong though ;)

Yes, a big chunk of Metropolis in the middle of New Orleans is just what we need...

I wouldn't be surprised if management had to fight to keep the old queue house, with as little midway themeing as there appears to be. Sure, Superman can visit New Orleans (he's visited way more exotic places than that), but does he need to bring his city with him? A nice big Superman logo where the old Shock Wave sign was will do nicely, I think.

I know this is off topic but Superman can visit the real New Orleans anyday, we could use him at SFNO ;)

Sorry I couldn't resist saying that. hehe :) But if you don't want him in that New Orleans you're welcome to send him here.

Back off Cameraman. The man of steel stays put in the Chicago area. ;)

I hope we get a nice entrance like at the other parks it would liven the area up. why would they make cool entrances at the other parks and not At SFGAm it dosent make much sence. Some one who is getting the pass processed tommorow take pics inside the park try to get a pic of the entrace area. But they dont let you into orleans place so you will have to take the Picture From Hometown. Also While you are there try to get pics of It testing if it dose.

Like I said before, I think the last thing we need is a flashy new entrance for the ride. Orleans Place is dull, but it's not because it looks bad. It look fine, second only to Southwest Territory, in my opinion. The problem is a lack of stuff to do, which mere look won't help. What will help is a nice, brand-new B&M masterpiece... which (by all acounts) is exactly what we're getting. Granted, that won't finish the job... but neither will a big sign.

Straight from the mouth of Jim Wintrode (GM) in an interview by AB: "We didn't want to destroy the Orleans feel so as you approach the entrance, Superman may be a bit understated. But once you get into the queue, the
graphics will certainly let you know where you are." Take that for what you will, but the article also mentions an attempt to blend Superman with the Orleans feel "without jeapardizing either."

wow...I never heard that before. that sounds pretty cool. when S:UF was first announced, I thought it was going to kill the Orleans theme. I know everyone said that Superman can travel anywhere he wants and it sounds like the park is going to try to capture that feel. the ride is starting to sound even better to me.

Who cares about the queue house...... jackhammer up the pavement underneath the coaster and plant some grass.

They stil have concrete under the ride? Thats not fair to yall if they do because they took ours out. Anyway I know for sure on your queve lines your going to have the cut out characters and the steel canopy thing over some parts of it like ours at Sfgadv's. Don't worry even if it won't have as much theming/scenery/landscaping, once you go throught the PL your going to forget all about that stuff because that inversion is just the same as people described the one in Georgia. Like peolpe said Intense/High G's/ Amazing/breath taking, your gonna like it, its going to be a cool ride, but im going to expect some real long lines with the coaster not being too far from the entrance, and maybe a few bugs that needs to be worked out like ours. Its going to be a good addition anyway.
I don't know what they did with the pavement, but there will be landscaping underneath the ride. they've said that for a while now.

More from Jim Wintrode, from the same AB article:

-------------------------------------------------

"... We're grading it, bringing in dirt and it will be beautifully landscaped."

When the grading is done, there will be mounds, valleys and at one point, the coaster will go below the new grade.

That's gonna be awesome! But when do you think that will sctually happen? Hopefully this summer cause I dont wantr to wait another year to get the full effect of the ride. Also, is that kind of stuff on the other S:UF's? I hope ours gives the best flying experience for the riders that way we have something the others dont give.
They are all the same. If you want something *different* ask sixflags to plant some thorns that come inches from the rider's faces. That would be totally radical dude.....and junk
