SFGAm riddle

Out of the way? I myself prefer to take long scenic strolls. ;)

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.

The term "Fright Fest" could never be more appropriate for SFGAm at this time of year. With Shockwave no longer there (or at least no longer standing complete), the front of the park will have an eerie look to it.

Keep in mind, S-Wave bashers, that those of us complaining are mostly complaining because we feel that Six Flags could've possibly worked a little harder to find space for the flyer without having to take down a coaster.

Then, when the next BIG coaster came around, they could've removed Big Blue, and it wouldn't have been as painful.

HeyMaybe they'll put a giant Ferris Wheel in that section to add something to the skyline, in addition to the coaster. That would look pretty cool upon entering the park.

Ok, so what's the problem? You're not losing a thrill ride! Shockwave is simply being replaced by (a better?) thrill ride.

You obviously loved Shockwave, and I doubt you will like whatever replaces it .. and, to be honest, that's fine. But you still can't fault the park for its decision!

By the way their is a new addition to SFGAM's skyline. A Huge 200 foot crane or so. Looks like the big portions of the ride will be coming down now.

He meant you aren't losing one it's just being replaced.
So....what happened to all those people that said they would take pictures "everyday"?

Coaster Counter: 85+...I need to sit down and figure it out :)

Yea who all is going tomorrow? If you go and dont bring a camera we will all shoot you.

Hey now, not everyone just "says" they are going to take pics...I took 'em when I was there!

Anyways, I too am looking forward to seeing new pics this weekend from those who go to FrightFest....better bundle up, it's chilly! Don't forget a coat....and your CAMERA! ;)

I am probably going this sunday i will take pictures when I am there.

Is it a digital camera and if you don't have a scanner get a kodak picture cd.

just a reminder

a large nummber of us coasterbuzzers will be heading to the park on sunday. we will probably meet in the morning when the gates open in front of the blood red reflecting pond by the entrance.

we will make our rounds on the rides and more than likely talk coasters and shockwave all day.

i look forward to it ondrew

Thanks Great America!

Iam going Sunday I will try to get lots of pics of the new track and of course I will take some of Shockwave being torn down.

I was there yesterday and I saw a 200 foot tall crane right next to shockwave. The entire batwing/bomerang is gone. THe East River Crawler is still a stump. Deja Vu was closed.

Orleans Place is quite pathetic. There are barely any rides there. I saw the new track from Sky Trek (at night) and I don't think I saw anything more than in the previous pictures.

I sat in the back row, right seat on Raging Bull and I must say that it was amazing. It made Raging Bull 2 times as good. The ejector air on the first(and other drops as well) was truly scary. The right seat is best because you are on the inside of the highest overbanked turns.

After going to Six Flags last night, I have come to the conclusion that Shockwave needed to go and a new coaster needs to go in it's place. Orleans Place was a lot worse than I thought it would be. It was literally(no pun intended) a ghost town. The only people there were heading to Yankee Harbor or the back of the park. A new coaster will really help bring life back into this area of the park. I was overheard talking about the potential flyer and the people next to me seemed like they had never heard of a flying coaster before. I am finally convinced that this was the best thing that Six Flags could do. Raging Bull, Viper, Batman, V2, Deja Vu and a FLyer will make a much better headliner combination that with Shockwave. Now we are missing a mega looper, but we gain a flyer which is probably better for right now considering that Six Flags is still coming off the heels of Raging Bull.

One final thing, If you haven't ridden Batman in the dark, than you are missing something.
