SFGAm Recent Roller Coasters

Yes, I have... but not V2

And Wicked Twister, to me, is CP just trying to be different so they can claim the first of a type, or a -est ride.... Wouldn't it technically be the tallest inverted coaster?

I consider a clone to be an exact copy. Therefore Whizzer, Viper, and Raging Bull...to me...are not clones. Also, if SFGAM has the original (In this case Batman), I do not consider it a clone. The clones would be those that followed...as an exact copy.

Be happy you have such a diverse park. I would love to have a park like SFGAM as my home park.

And anyway, X-Flight is more of a clone than Deja Vu. It had a sister appear the same year (just like Deja Vu) and didn't make as many changes from its predecessor (Stealth) as Deja Vu (Invertigo).

You must be this dumb to ride Viper. -SFGAdv.

They should retheme clones to make them seem different.
Just be happy we dont have ****ty clones- some parks have SLC's, Boomerangs, TOGO clones, ect, ect...

I don't care what they get. I'm with it.
Ok people, do you want some awesome clones (V2, umm Deja Vu ;), and now S:UF) or nothing!!? Yea that's what I thought. Please do not whine about getting a new coaster, you should be thankful.

Don't Fight It, Ride It, RAGING BULL!!!!!!- SFGAm

UTUKM is right, clones are no good. I mean, come on, who in Illinois would want a S:UF clone a few minutes to an hour away when they could easily just go down to Georgia to ride the same thing?

Yeah, clones are so stupid. When in Japan I swear I heard people that saw Orochi say "WTF....I could just go to Ohio and ride that. Why did they build a clone!" ;)

Oh wow!!!! Now we all know the ... "real" reason why Marriott sold both of his Great America parks.

Its not because he wasnt interested in amusment parks anymore, but he was... "forced" out by coaster enthusiass's who deemed him the.. "Evil Clone Man"

Thats right, since he cloned both of these parks down to the bathrooms, all enthusiass's united to force him out of the business. :)

'Marriott' = evil, evil, evil. ;)

All i know is that raging bull is the best original the park has ever had, no matter how many new rides there are it will still be the best.

YES!! I almost forgot about the great american clones. Marriot was an evil man trying to bring two parks that are exactly the same to two different coasts. Our predecesors (at least mine, I'm a teen) of the enthusiass world stopped him from his dire plan. Who knows...it might have been Busch trying to make clones of their Tampa and Williamsberg parks in Utah and Washington. ;)

Well Bill I tend to like Boomerangs and Vekoma/Arrow megaloopers, yet I despise the filth that is a Vekoma SLC.

I couldn't agree more.

Anyways, just think how much garbage would overflow these forums if each and every member posted about how their rides at their homepark aren't good enough. NO park is, or ever will be, perfect. Only one park can have the "world's first" of anything. There are far too many parks to give something like that to every park. When the offseason gets long and boring, you'll be glad those clones are there.

I guess I should say that SLC's are FAR from my favorite rides, but that the one I've ridden the MOST isn't too bad...Wild Adventures' Hangman...it gets good maintenance, and the OTSR's are pretty forgiving...they even do "pretty good" with their Boomerang, although the OTSR's are NOT as good. Softer padding on the OTSR's, frequent maintenance, and good wheels can make an SLC, or even a Boomerang, MUCH more enjoyable.

Cloning an entire park is evil, man. But I gues I shouldn't complain, 'cause without the attempt to do so, my beloved Great America wouldn't even exist in the first place...

I used to think clones were good business sense, but bad at heart. I'm slowly coming around ot seeing that there's really no perticular reason for this. As long as new designs come out every year, who cares if a few rides are cloned? If the rides are good (and that's quite an if), then why should people be denied the chance to experience them just because they happen to live on the other side of the country? Now, I've heard reviews of S: UF, and all of them were good. However, All the ones that mentioned the "clone-ability" of this ride said they would not rate it as high as Batman (quite possibly the best full-circuit coaster to clone ever made). Will we end up wishing our hearts our we had an original design next Summer? Perhaps. But I doubt it. Antway, I'll reserve final judgement for when I've actually ridden the thing. So, if you are against clones on principal, please kindly step out of the line so I don't have to wait as long.

I don't mind Boomerangs, but I find SFNE's Mind Eraser to be aweful! Not only foew your head hurt, but your neck gets twisted around during those spins :(

I agree about General Public statement, but I have one thing to say (no relation to SFGAm)

If two parks with a close proximity have clones, then the General Public can know.

Examples...

At SFNE, some people in line said this was the same thing as Zoomerang at Lake Compounce

I've heard stories that the general Public at Cedar Point said Wicked twister was the same as SUE (it isn't, but heck, they wouldn't notice the extra twist)

SFGAm's cloned coasters, are all unique to that are so their General Public probably wouldn't know the difference.

Okay, I agree with you all about how we should be thankful with the coasters we got. I am. But what has changed in Chicago since the days of Shockwave, Iron Wolf, Batman, Viper, and Raging Bull? Did SFGAm have competition then? No.

So why does SFNE, in the middle of No Where (when I went, there were probably 700 people in the park. During Summer), get the best ride ever built, S:ROS (in my opinion), and a great floorless, Batman: Dark Knight. I mean, any major park in the Northeast is in competition with SFGAd, not NE.

-----------------
Top 3, no order: S:ROS (SFNE), MF, BTR (SFGAm)

UTUKM, how is SFNE any different from SFGA? as you said, we've got some great firsts as well as a whole bunch of great other rides. we'll be continuing that streak when we get SUF. who cares that its a clone? can you honestly tell me that SUF will, in some way, be a bad coaster because there two other one half way across the country?

Do any of you know how to build a sundial out of a pen and a donut?
uh oh, sounds like someone has a case of the mondays.

UTUKM.

Why dont you try this. When S:UF opens next season, I would like you to stand at the exit of the coaster. As people are exiting the ride, why dont you have a little survey. Ask them how their ride was, and then ask them if they have ever experienced a coaster like this before.

I am willing to bet at least 95% will say that this was a one-of-a-kind experience for them.
