SFGAm Deja Vu opening Oct. 5th

ChiTown, based on the wait times at SFoG, I'd suggest a Michener novel, having (and raising) a child, or some other way to pass a few YEARS, LOL... A shuttle coaster at a SF park is a recipe for disastrously  long waits IMO.

17 Parks In the 2001 Season!
When I rode V2, I went early in the morning and ran to it. I was dead tired but i was able to get the first train of the day back seat. I hope I can do that for deja vu.
Wern't they going to move some of the Raging Bull staff to Deja Vu to improve loading/unloading times?  I read that somewhere on this site...

Kevin, who will try to be at SFGAm the 8th...

Is October 5th going to be media day for deja vu or are they not going to have one?  I wish I was invited to the media day but SFGAM is one of if not the only park in the six flags chain that doesn't invite all the ACE members to come.  I think they only allow like 10 ACE members to come.  Does anyone know why they do this?  I know its their decision and I respect that but I just wonder why?  Just like how they don't have any ACE events any more?

Based on what's happening with the SFMM version, the lines average about 45 minutes on Sundays(I won't be caught dead at any SF park on a Saturday). But I'd ride it now, before next season, while alot of folks appear to be staying at home.
The dispatch times range from ok to horrible, but is that really such a shock? I wait an average of 90 minutes every time I ride a new Vekoma.

I'm sure the lines are going to be long but I for one don't care.  It's a new ride, and it looks sweet, so i'm going to do the wait, no matter how long.  I'll ride Deja Vu, V2 and the Bull.  That will make my day.
Ya Chitown the lines for Batman TR were alot longer than 2 hours,  I waited at least 4 hours to ride it.  But hopefully I won't have to do this for DeJa Vu.  I am going to try a Sunday in mid October to try and ride it hoping for the lines to be shorter.  Also with V2 also being new this year I hope that this helps shorten DeJa Vu's line,  if it doesn't it will probally shorten V2's normal line.   Anyhow I was wondering if anybody knows if Six Flags Great America does Twickets during Fright Fest?

Just to let everyone know I called the park today and the opening date for Deja Vu has not been set nor has the media day.  Sixflagsnews.com is spreading false rumors.  Also its not an official site.  Sorry to inform all of you with the bad news.  There still is a chance it will open on October 5th but it just hasn't been announced.

They have been pretty accurate in the past though.  Also note there is a "headlines" section and a "rumors" section, and this is in the "headlines".

Nevertheless, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't open on the 5th, given the problems the other parks have had opening this attraction.

Hopefully it will open on the fifth.. Fright Fest is going to be in overflow parking every weekend :(.
ATTENTION!!!! IT WILL UNLIKELY OPEN THIS YEAR!!! From what i am hearing from people that i know that work there, they doubt it will open this year and if it does it would be during the last week of Frieght Fest. I trust my sources very well, especially since other people i know are hearing the same thing. I do have to say all this year that so called website has been posting many false rumors and news. If SFGam was going to open it this year it would be in the media and there has not been a date announced at all or anything about it opening by my sources who is a writer with the Chicago Tribune and another writer that I know from the Daily Herald confirms the same thing.

Park says it will be open on Columbus day Oct. 8th.  Think it will be busy on that day?  -Patrick

That was from me. last time I was at the park, I overheard Viper staff talking about how most the the RB crew were going to be assigned to the Deja Vu staff.

Current favorite coasters:
Wooden: 1) Beast 2) Raven 3) Son of Beast 4) The Boss 5) Timber Wolf
Steel: 1) Raging Bull 2) Millennium Force 3) V2 4) Wild Thing 5) Mr. Freeze

About v2 shortening the line...it hasn't been running the last two weekends...so I'm not sure that will help
Being a crew member for deja vu I can tell you this,  It may or may not be open on the 5th.  Media day is the 4th.
So now they have announced a media day?? Do you know if they are running the story anywhere?  Well, seeing as how a coaster usually immediatly after its media day (or at least V2 did) I would guess that it would be open by the 6th...... its getting to the point though where i will believe it when i see it.

Well having been invited to attend the V2 conference I was told that I would be invited to attend the Deja Vu Press Conference which I have not been contacted for yet.  I find the press conference date a tad far fetched.  However if anyone in the "press" can confirm this for us I will gladly rescind my comment above.   Or if some people actually go and post pics online.

Yes, I want my Deja Vu and eat it too!
I just saw a commercial five minutes ago saying the coaster will be open for fright fest.

Media Day on the 4th is probably about Frieght Fest, not about DejaVu. The people i know fromthe Chicago Tribune and the Daily Herald have yet to see or hear anything about DejaVu opening up this year. Though SF may announce if they plan to open it later into Frieght Fest or if its possible or if its wait till next year before it opens.
