SFGAm Deja Vu opening Oct. 5th

Check out www.sixflagsnews.com. Interestingly, the park is not open to the general public on this date.  Strange that they would open it during a buyout.
all right they'e gonna open it on my BIRTHDAY!

It's gonna be my birthday my bah bah bah bah bah birth-day!

It's a great ride, but capacity is "an issue".  Starting with shuttle nature (one train), compounded by a weird seating arrangement which makes it hard for people to get to the far side of the coaster (phalanx-orientation, but you gotta get over there before or after the ride anyway).  Then add in multiple restraints (OTSR's and seatbelts added as an inconvenient afterthought).  Also, SF crews overwhelmed by the confusing restraints and the crowd of the NEW ride.  Also, some riders wish to remove their shoes, as in other inverteds.  Then, just in case you haven't waited long ENOUGH, there's Fastpass people requiring the ride-ops to pay attention to and try to load separately.  It was FUN, but I wouldn't wait 1-1/2 hours more than once for Deja Vu, the ride that reminds you more than a little of some other Vekoma inverteds...

Maybe the SFGAm version won't have the extra seatbelts...
From what I was told during Viper's farewell, the other Deja Vu's were built with ONE restraint, the OTSR.  After being open for just one weekend, the GP was complaining about not felling secure enough (crybabies SHOULDN'T ride, LOL).  So the seatbelts were added (and they are a PAIN)...But the footchoopers are EXTREME - so keep your ankles turned up...j/k!

I live in GA and have been on Deja Vu twice...the best is the front but all of it is a great ride
Yes that means I get to ride it this year!
My birthday too, Mr. X...

B&M+SFGAm=3 excellent coasters.

One word comes to mind...

Finally!

Oh, and Gatorwoodie, you mentioned "Viper's farewell" in your post.  Did you mean the Viper @ SFGAm? Also, what do you mean by "farewell?"

Glidein, ACE threw a "wake" for Viper at SFoG on 9/16, it's now in pieces and being moved to an undisclosed location...serious mystery!  I BELIEVE that SFoG was the only US park with two Schwarzkopf coasters(Viper, the coaster that ssssstrikes twice, and the insane Mindbender - track so small you could probably reach your arms around it).  Look for Viper next year at a Six Flags park near you (I'm thinking Enchanted Village, SFKK, or SFEG, but if CP comes up with some surprise coaster announcement, outside shot at SFMM to keep the "most in one park" title.  Have fun at Deja Vu North's Grand Opening!!!

Actually, SF Astro World has 3!  However, one of them really hasn't run this year.  I hate to see any park lose a coaster, and especially a Schwarzkopf!

I miss Tidal Wave (Renamed Viper when moved), I wish they would send it back to its home (SFGAm).  They took down Tidal Wave to make way for Batman, but there's room for it somewhere :). Can't wait for Deja Vu, I wonder if I can get in the park on the 5th.

Well then Peabody, I'd better get myself to SFAW during the next event.  Never visited a TX park...  It's easy to see how this confusion occurs with all of SF's originality in naming (Vipers, Deja Vus, Batmen, Supermen, Cyclones, etc.)...

Great news! I cant wait to use my season pass to go unlimited times to fright fest!
Considering the popularity of Fright Fest at SFGAm and the (OH MY GOD, ITS FINALLY OPENING!!!) debut of Deja-Vu, I foresee a wait time that will probably set a record for this park. I feel it will surpass Batman:TR for wait times when it first opened. Be prepared for a 2+ hour wait and thats probably a low number. Its going to be crazy. However, I will be one of those in that insane long line because its a coaster I have never ridden before. Bring your walkman, bring your gameboy, bring your significant other, just bring SOMETHING!!! to pass the time while waiting in line.

"The Peoples Elbow" or "The Spinaroonie?. Cant decide which is the most electrifying move in sports entertainment!!! LOL
I agree with Chitown on this one. I heard that back in 1992 when Batman: The Ride opened, the lines were 5 hours. Is that true? I would believe it, since it was a new coaster design.

On the first day the ride opens to the public, I would get to the park early, and then when they open the gates, "running of the bulls" to Déjà Vu. I can't image the run to the ride. I remember "the running of the bulls" to Vertical Velocity in the morning when I went to the park in July.

If I were to go, I would get their early. I would run their (which they allowed running to V2 when I went in July). If you run your *** off, then you can be one of the few who maybe get the 2nd or 3rd train of operation. That's what I would do.

I don't know about the rest of you...
