SFGAM Deja Vu Goes Bezerk!!

I thought all day it was funny seeing the ride get stuck at the last minute hanging there , but tonight was the best! My friend and I got into the line right before closing, after going through once and getting ready to drop back down backwards , it obviously dropped them to soon. Everyone watched it go through the loop very slow, which usually goes quick, then as it went to the top of the boomerang and dropped back down, then up then down. You can see the people were still having fun when it happened , even though it was major. I hope the ride doesnt shut down forever! So we went to V2 which for some reason closed very soon after that cause we were the last ride and they made people in line get out. I dont know if this has happened on any Deja Vus but it looks like it would be normal in some ways. And I talked to one of the builders that basically helps the park out, I guess next year Whizzers out and A clone of the superman ride at Georgia, but then again I hear about the X clones so who knows. Peace everyone!
Oh and by the way they got all the passengers out with this machine that went up and they just hopped in .

So basically it vallied...

This has happened several times on the Deja Vu at SFMM. But actually, the new wheel assembly they started using has been working pretty well.

Hey thats cool, we were in the second row I had my sandals off, did you see me? Youre right about the Eagle being backwards but they need to put it on the red side for once!! and whats up with them racing it. The red sides brakes are terrible and the fact they let start the rides off at the same time its not right, the blue side gets up faster, the motor is new or something! lol. I hate the fact the blue is backwards cause its such A waiste of a ride , the track is so boring on that side. But its still the American Eagle. Later everyone

I don't think berzerk is the right word to use, the technical term would be VALLEYED. It valleyed in an area that it's never done that before in, between the loop and the cobra roll. It's going to be an interesting week. They'll probably have to remove the train from the track and re-assemble it in the station. Don't look for it to be open next weekend.

With all the problems the Deja Vu rides have been having with this it makes you wonder if they're going to be around for a lot longer...I know this question has been asked before but it still seems to be begging for an answer in my mind...SF has to be getting tired of the whole picking the train off the rails and reassembling routine and the accompanying negative response from their patrons.

Rides with horrendous amounts of downtime are just bad all the way around...it's a pain for the park to have to keep fiddling with it to get it up and running and it's bad because your paying customers are usually irked when the new ride is constantly down.

It seems that just extending the vertical towers another 10 or so feet would be enough to prevent the problem but would SF be willing to have the rides down for however long it'd take to augment them?

Stay tuned I suppose...

Colin,

What exactly do you mean by "...horrendous amounts of downtown..."?

It's just bad software! The track between the loop and the back spike is lined with brakes ... The problem is that the software which controls them is (obviously) quite brain dead.

Deja Vu valleys alot a Magic Moutain or so I have heard
If something doesn't change soon, I see these rides having the same future as the Bat at Kings Island.

Deja Vu at SFMM hasn't "valleyed" as described in the above SFGAm incident, per se. Rather it has "stalled" ON THE BOOMERANG. Even worse, because some of the passengers are in an inverted position when it stalls. Additionally, I believe they can attatch the catch cable if it valleys betwwen the loop and the tower, making it easier to return to normal. The stall on the boomerang requires an extensive pull through process.

I've traded in my 2000 Giovanola for a 2002 Arrow X4D :)
My other car is now an Arrow X4D!

I agree with Starcoasters! They could end up having that same future. Vekoma just did not hit the operating standards with these rides.

X Looks Awesome! Oh Yea!!

I think SF should just get ride of there super sized invertigos.

So many coasters, so little vacation time....

Well, I'm glad to say that I got at least one good ride on it. I had no idea that the Deja Vu's valleyed this much....good thing it didn't valley on me. By the way, has the one at SFOG ever valleyed?

I want to ride it in the front seat, then if it doesn't impress me more, and/or it keeps breaking down, kill it. it sucks all the time & money was wasted, but I'd rather have something more exciting and reliable take it's place.

At Fright Fest last year I saw it valley 3 times between the loop and the boommerang. Why in the heck don't they just put some lims in the places where it has problems. The main problem area I saw last year was that the train didn't go high enough to meet the catch wagon on the second tower. I saw that happen 3 times while waiting for Batman, the Ride. Deja Vu is a fantastic ride when it does run like it should. Also, just have the catch wagons come down lower to meet the train and catch the train in the center instead of the back where it makes contact, and have the wagons go a little higher up the towers.
