I was just watching Fox News Chicago and saw a report about a girl from my home town who suffered a Brain Anurism after Riding Shockwave. These growing reports of Roller coaster related brain injuries are starting to make me think that the parks need to figure out why and where these anurisms occur. This is like the 3 or 4 one I've heard of in the last month.

These are pre existing conditions. Don't buy into Markeyism. People have heart attacks at home all the time, I guess we need to figure out why? They just occur. It is a condition that is already there before they get in line.
It happened in may but they were just finding out about it like a week ago. I think this is a bull plop story made by the girl to sew six flags, I'm very sinicle. But they are sewing Great America but the tv said they didn't know anything about the law suit.

It's when a weak vessel carrying blood breaks open. If it was in the brain, I'm amazed she lived, if she did. I guess I assumed she did but your post does not indicate either way. I hope she did not die. Yes, Sean C., I agree completely that the parks need to figure out why these are happening and do something to prevent them on new rides.

Sorry guys, don't believe the hype. You're more likely to have an aneurism in your sleep or any other daily activity. If you have the blockage in a blood vessel, it's going to burst sometime, and it doesn't matter when. The design of the rides has nothing to do with the aneurism. That's why it's a pre-existing condition.
It made the news because it happened at an amusement park. If it happened at her home or while she was out playing with her friends, you would have never heard a word about it. Just like a plane wreck. You here a hundred people die in a plane crash, but you don't here about the thousands that die in car wrecks.

I personally know someone who had an aneurysm at home with her family. That didn't make the news. I am in Ohio. Ghost Town in the Sky's stalled chairlift did make the news here.

An aneurysm is actually a weak spot in a blood vessel, a place where the vessel is likely to break. In an extreme case, it breaks causing a stroke. In a far less extreme case it breaks and causes a subdural hematoma, a brain bleed consistent with a blow to the head.
my cousin saw someone fall down dead from an aneurysm, they guy was walking off of a dock, and he got on shore, screamed "oh sh*t, my head!!!!" and then died.....so to say that is only caused by certain things like some of the press think, is wrong.
Hopefully this will make Six Flags rip out Shockwave for 2003 and keep Whizzer ;) Mabye markeyism is good for one thing.....SAVING THE WHIZZER ;) ;) ;)

Sorry, It turns out that the ride she got hurt on Was The American Eagel. Her Lawyer says that the Ride is not designed to run in Backwards operations. Which is quite plainly bull. Also her family is only trying to get rich off of a pre-existing condition that could of happened while she was ice skating. Then they would accuse the Ice Center for causing it. The girl is fine though, only her lawyer states "She has Headaches once in a while" but don't we all!

the only reason that she got headaches is from riding shockwave before the eagle...why can't people get hurt on the crappy coaster so that they'll shutdown those rides...what town is this girl from...this lawsuit better get knocked down by a judge with an ounce of common sense...
