SFGAm 6/23 Lots of news

Associated parks:
None

Dude, I work there and we are pretty sure that's what's going there. It's either that or a flyer, and that's a slim chance. We've got a bet going here. So far 7 have said LIM, 5 have said flyer. But we know for sure Whizzer's going down.

Take it up a notch, Mr. Operator! I wanna feel my brains in my feet!

While I do NOT work at the park, I have followed developments there, like Chitown has, since it opened in 1976.

I would be EXTREMELY surprised that a copy of Superman:the Escape went in. That's hogwash! Why? Well think about it. They only have one at Magic Mountain and there's a reason for that: because Magic Moutain is the west's roller coaster capital. The village of Gurnee, which already imposes strict height limits on the park, is not going to go for a 400 foot reverse freefall.

When does all the endless speculation stop? Let's enjoy the Whizzer, and wait till an announcement comes.

I am sure that it wont be a 400 foot LIM ride. When they built V2 and Deja Vu the park had to get special permission from the Village of Gurnee for height clearances. The proceedings of the Gurnee Village building authority are online and accessable to the public. If they wanted a 400 foot ride they would have to get permission from the building authority before they could even start building the ride. Havent seen hide nor hare of such a clearance.

You silly dude, your'e only food, for the DEMON"

Why have there been no clones of S:TE? Is it the technical difficulties it experienced, or the height issue?

Having just built two shuttles, including a LIM, I think we can all safely say that there's absolutely no chance of S:TE at SFGA. Also, based on trip reports, people don't seem to be all that crazy about the ride, so this shouldn't be a disappointment. (Though a 400 foot tower gracing our skyline would be a thing of beauty).

One word: Capacity. S:TE has horrible capacity and frankly, it's a one-trick pony.

X It To Xtreme, out of curiosity, where in the park do you work?

I suggest you all get your rides in on Whizzer before August 11th... I will truly miss this ride! :(

"Escuse me, can you tell me where the heck the Mystery Lodge is"?

There's one, big, ugly reason that S:TE will NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER be at SFGAm.

NOISE.

(That said, I don't WANT it here either...)

SFMM's S:TE is two or three decibles short of 'excruciatingly terrible.' You can hear it from anywhere in the park. There's no reason that Gurnee would approve that sort of thing. Aside from being an abomination (aesthetically) it is way too loud. There was a rumor circulating that Gurnee wasn't too happy with the idea to build Raging Bull because of the riders' screams.

Here, let me rattle off the other reasons...

Size... Never fit on Whizzer's plot... Reliability... Six Flags doesn't trust them. Why didn't they build another? Cost... S:TE's LIM (LSM?) launch system uses much more e- than V2's.

I've heard the rumor about a flying coaster going by Power Dive. Frankly, this makes sense too, but it doesn't seem like there'd be a lot of space there to do things. I'm not sure they want to make it go across the asphalt by the train tracks... That's pretty wide stuff.

Ok X to the Xtreme is not a right at all. My guess is that he does work at the park he is a sweeper. The Hight Restriction at Great America is 315 feet (the top of Sky Trek tower's flag pole) Great America will never get a variance for that hieght. Magic Mountain only got theirs because there is no big town around it. Also the Superman : the escape would NEVER FIT IN WHIZZERS SPOT!!!!!! The ride would have to start by Eagel and end by the go karts!!!! It wouldn't work. Great America had a proplem with Deja Vu and V2 also because they need a hieght variance for anything above 125 feet. So a flying coaster would fit there with out the village complaining. Next Time X remeber that just because you work at the park doesn't mean you are right. No offense but the idea of a 400 foot tall coaster at Great America is rediculous.

Have you ever been to SFGAm and seen Deja Vu closed? If you have then go again and it WILL BE DEJA VU!

Sorry I couldn't hear you, The voices in my head are drowning you out.
