SFGAdv 6/17/08 (Day 4)

Am I dumb? What is FTW? I hope it's something good or I'll have to beat you for dissin' my ride. LOL

Google.

Yeah, perhaps there are differences in the way you view things if it's just you and your special partner or a whole family. When you hear the Disney commercial for, "$1,600 for a week, we can do that," for four, yeah, that makes some sense. (Actually, I doubt it does, because that's probably staying at a crappy value resort and doesn't include the meal plan either.)

The dynamic is very different when looking at what the cost is for two, that's for sure.

I too was very impressed with SFGADV, and paid the $100 for the gold bot for two people. You can't put a price on my time, and having only day to be there, the bot allowed us to do everything we wanted and completely made the day.

I wanted to mention one other thing that really impressed me. Look at this picture:

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p205/pcwcoasterboy/DSCF3584.jpg

The man in the blue shirt wearing a tie at the front of the line is the parks GM (can't recall his name) and lined up behind him are a group of the parks senior managers. They were lined up at the exit of the park and "High-5'ing" everyone as they left. Each one thanked us for us coming.

Everyone on these boards had trashed Six Flags so hard for so long, and then to have an amazing trip there, with no complaints, I was amazed. I actually had wow moments, like being thanked by the GM. I think it's time we reconsider things.

LOL, I had to look up "FTW" as well. My initial guess was "Fear the Wrath"....which also makes sense under the circumstances.. ;)

P.S. Jeff's point is very valid IMO, and makes me wonder what a bargain Gonch could get if he had another couple kids.... :)

OMG so are coaster enthusiasts going to have more kids to get better value at parks now? ;)
^ Just move into a commune together. :) But I will spring for a box of dixie cups, because we're not all drinking from the same souvenir cup!

FTW-- I just thought someone was dyslexic.

FTW also could mean I hate the World.

So El Toro - I hate the World. Yeah!! Replace I hate with a swear word. Why couldn't you just say that El Toro is your favorite coaster on the earth that you have ridden instead of a whatever you call it that hardly anyone knows.

Who the hell doesn't know "FTW"?

Three people on an enthusiast forum...and that's about the end of the list.

I suppose my grandma probably doesn't, so that'd be four. :)

^ No offense, but it took me a minute to.

Ask not what you can do for a coaster, but what a coaster can do for you.
Gonch, you're mean! I know what I think the letters stand for (eff the world), but I didn't know if they fit in with the context of the sentences. Does it mean something like eff the world cuz I would rather be riding El Toro? Or eff the world if people actually like this ride?

Going to Great Adventure today. Still trying to decide on Ka.

So that makes me a one in a billion type person. I'll take that as a compliment. Better than being a lemming following behind everyone else.

By the way, taking three- 3 letter words and making a 3 letter whatever out of it isn't really shortening by all that much, say unlike Terms of Service. :)

I finished work late last night, and when I got home and went through his TR I sat there thinking about it for a minute. No big deal though.

Nice to hear that your number one ride is el toro. I'll get down there some day.

lol, Bear!

I didn't know what it meant either, didn't find it on Google either, but didn't look too hard. Now I know the next time I see it what it means.

Gonch, didn't you feel guilty contributing to the long line problem at the park?

It's nice to hear that the park has improved, even if it does come from SF #1 fan and supporter. How much are they paying you to help improve their image Gonch?

(The above is all in fun, by the way.)

For all of the people who, like me, crank-start their automobiles every day...bookmark this site:

YTML (you'll thank me later) ;)

P.S. SF doesn't need to pay Gonch for the compliments on GAdv, I'll do that for free. SFA, however, might be another case altogether - that park needs help in a serious way...

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Got another El Toro convert. :) Good to see.

I think it's great that out of all the things that could've become points of discussion, interest or contention in my original post, that "FTW" is the thing that everyone gravitated towards.

This is why I love CoasterBuzz. :)

(for the record, I always thought it meant "eff the world" too until I kept seeing kids using it in ways that didn't make sense - now I know :) )

I'm not sure this is actually true. No doubt the ride is amazing and I didn't think it petered out at the end like I've read so often. In fact, I think it took that twisted ending that lies in RT's infield with a Voyage-like intensity.

But that's just it. Except for the very end, it doesn't pack Voyage's intensity. But Voyage doesn't pack Toro's ridiculous pops of air either.

Toro makes me smile and proclaim, "Give me more!"

Voyage makes me smile and proclaim, "I can't take any more!"

I'd be hard pressed to call a winner. It's a draw.

I thought the same thing about El Toro. That is an amazing ride. Still have yet to ride Voyage, so I can't compare.
