SFEG Starts Delivery of TFC

It is the second version of Mr. Twister. Twister II. Makes sense to me.

RE: Mr. Twister

Maybe it would help to have a litle sense of the history of John Allen...famous mainly for his "family-style" O-n-B's. When the original Mr. Twister was built it ran a bit sluggish, but was VERY much different from his other designs...after one season, he went back to his blueprints, made a few tweaks to speed up the ride, and to add more intensity. When the ride opened the second season, it became an "instant classic", and certainly rivals PKI's Racer in terms of coaster lore....I never got to ride either of the CO versions, but after riding KG's "compact" version, I can only imagine...I think in a way, it was meant to be Allen's tribute to the WILD rides of Traver and the like....

Let's not forget that John Allen never really cared for Mr. Twister. He didn't think it was one of his best.

I know that it is the follow up to Twister, even though most say it doesn't do anything campared to the original. But just think about that name. Twister II. It should have been Twister Stikes Again or Twister Strikes Back or Twisters' Revenge. Personally, I think they should have either moved it or built it the exact same way. I think they should have given Mr. Twister more credit.

Oh, and J., I know you work there, so I was wondering if they have any weird policies like SFWoA about taking pictures during the off-season. I was hoping to go and take some pictures of the track. Do you think they would care?

I don't think they would care if you took pictures, but I don't work security so I don't know if they have any policies.

As long as you're not trespassing, I think it would be fine.

It would be tespassing, but only in the parking lot. I would have to to take pictures. I was thinking of parking somewhere else and walking over into the parking lot. I know I am definitly going to take pictuers opening day, from the Sidewinder. And J. I was also wondering if you knew if the Observation Tower would open. I know they had a accident in like July last year, and I was sure if it has opened since. Thanks.

I went by and took a few pictures. It is orange track and blue supports. Hopefully Jeff will post the news soon.

If you want Jeff to post the news, than submit it as news.

I got to stop by last night, but I didn't have my camera. I couldn't get close because there was a game and you you had to pay 10 bucks for parking. I was hoping to go back today with my camera, but I don't think that will happen. From the looks of it, there is about half the station up and half the supports up. It kinda amazed me that the track was just lying there in the parking lot, it would suck if a car ran into that.

Anybody know who much this coaster costs?

I already did submit it, except that it won't be approved because there are already many pictures of that particular coaster on the net. That makes sense though.

I was at the Nuggets game, and I got a pretty good view of the mess of supports. There should be some nice body choppers. I can't wait!

The obs tower will be open this season, but I don't have any specifics, it is under kiddieland jurisdiction.

Actually, a kiddie coaster comes to Maui once for this carnival.

HAHA, the tallest ride in the park is under kiddieland juristiction. That is funny. But it makes sense.
