SFA Superman

If that's true, that's a pretty dreadrul ratio.
I don't buy the 36" to 38" waist thing. I had a 36" waist when I was in high school and was pretty lean. I can't even buy a pair of jeans that are size 40, they are in short supply at most stores. So I would say they are going to eliminate an awful lot of people if a 36 or 38" waist is to big to ride.
Holy Shnikees! 36-38" waists aren't fitting? Can anyone confirm this?
Curse those 50 pounds that marriage and job stress has put on me. Looks like many of us may need to take page from 'Operation Wicked Twister" this year!

Dayum! 36" - 38"!?!?! That there just ruled out half of the nation! I would hope that if this does prove to be true, that it doesn't last very long. I can see TONS of people who have ridden safely before being rejected and causing a gigantic stink at Customer Relations.

Happiness is like peeing your pants. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth. Trip pics are here: http://www.pbase.com/jhbd99.
I hope that waist thing is true...much shorter lines for me and my wife..LOL

Seriously, that is just absurd. The new customer demographics would insure the close of business.

No further explanation needed. I'm hopelessly lost.
Come on people. It's the only thing to do now, for the safety of people. It may seem unethical, but it is now the only reasonable thing to do; as these restraints have malfunctioned many times. Also, we don't even know if it's true.... Keep Your Pants on!

Have malfunctioned many times?? How many times exactly? NONE is the answer.

The first time when it happened to the Superman at Darien Lake, they didn't have seatbelts... so you can't count that. It was the lapbar, and wasn't tight enough on him due to his extreme size.

And this time at New England... the gentleman could have unbuckled the seatbelt or never snapped it for what it's worth, so it's not like the belt snapped open or failed to lock him in. Nothing was concluded in regards to that.
There is no honest to goodness reason to keep it limited to a 38" waiste... that's really absurb. I would say about 42" would be the max that I'd give it. But you have to also figure... this isn't all set-in stone. There's nothing in writing that says it's limited to a 38" waiste... so I'd bet that there's probably a little more lax than just that.

Perhaps this will be a new feature of Coasterbuzz... Weight Watchers Online. :) or, how about Weight Watchers Pizza instead of regular park pizza. *** Edited 5/18/2004 10:06:20 PM UTC by coasterguts***

I was at SFA Friday, and saw that the train on the brakes before the station were lacking lapbars - I guess this means that they are replacing the bars with better ones, as they are at SFNE and SFDL.

Dental Plan! Lisa Needs Braces.

In the photos I saw from SFNE Central (I think the same ones linked above...) I couldn't tell if any part of the lap bars themselves were present, but the locking mechanisms are clearly still in place. In the third shot you can see the accumulator bottle hanging off the top of the cylinder outboard of the fourth row.
