mamoosh: "used possibly, not new"...know anything you're not telling, j/k...
I remember driving by Wild World a few times when I was a kid in Md, MANY years ago it seems....funny part is, only drove by on our way to PKD! Only now as an enthusiast do I realize there was even a park there - the park didn't have the WildOne/Giant Coaster 'til 86, so I had already fled to FL by the time Wild World got into coasters.

rollergator: I have not heard anything about SFA getting something used, like SFOG's Viper. However I have been told by more than one source that there are only 3 B&Ms coming to Six Flags parks in 2002: SFOG, SFNE, and La Ronde. That's it. As a chain Six Flags is cutting WAY back on expenditures. I believe there are only 6 coasters for the whole chain in 2002: the three B&Ms, the Intamin speed in Europe, the possible Volare for SFEG, and the Morgan hyper for Mexico, but that's not looking good right now. Anyone keeping their hopes up for the B&M stand-up SFA got approval for years ago is probably gonna be disappointed.
SFA's masterplan with the county has only one coaster listed. That one sounds like a mouse. I have also heard that the 200' tall x 60' X 70" ride is a typo. Actually it's supposed to be 200' long and either 60 or 70 feet tall.
The only other coaster on the list is the mine train which is still in storage in Indiana.I'm sure they plan to add at least one more major coaster to the park other than the mine train so it isn't out of the question for them to add a B&M.Last month coasternet reported that the ride possibilities for 02 were either #1 Viper from SFOG #2 a ferris wheel which would be constructed along with an additional ride or #3one of two B&M coasters either a stand up or floorless.I posted this a while back when it was first reveiled but my post was quickly deleted. Also if the info on the enclosed ride was a typo on the list then maybe the reference number on the list describing Batwing as attraction #37 could have also been a typo.
It won't be Viper this year anyway... It's still in pieces at SFOG. If it were to be built for this season, it would have needed to have been shipped long before now.
SFA has a history of breaking ground late for new coasters and erecting them quickly, so I wouldn't rule Viper out on that basis. Foundations for both Batwing and Superman were poured in the early spring, not the fall.
However, for other reasons mentioned, I still don't expect to see Viper show up at SFA.
If that were the case, wouldn't you think it would have been sold and on-site by now?
I have never been to SFA, but from looking at pics they need to add some trees, flowers, fountains, shops, restaurants, bathrooms, anything to the Gotham City area. It looks really empty. They need to fix that area first before getting a new coaster and make a path to Roar to so its not just a dead end. Just my opinion...
GhettoCoaster, SFA does have a landscaping company, and they do a good job. There are plenty of trees, and shubbery (and flowers) planted in Gotham City, but it'll take time for them to grow to full height. In the end though GC, why are people coming to Six Flags America? For the multimillion dollar coasters, not the trees. And trust me, Gotham City is anything but empty on a crowded Saturday afternoon.

I didn't say it was empty people wise, I meant the scenery and I dont remember saying people come for trees? They need more shade/scenery in that area. I never said the rest of the park looked barren, just that area:)
The landscaping could use some work. Saplings have been planted, but it will take time for the trees to grow. Still Gotham Dity at least has grass and beats the heck out of many new coasters that are being built over the asphalt of old parking lots.
The track sighting was 3 miles out from the park which would put it on Central Ave.When you exit I-95 on to Central avenue going east bound you have to drive 5 miles before you reach SFA's main parking lot also the 3 B&M coasters already confirmed do not have green as their paint scheme ,SFOG's is red track /blue supports SFNE's is purple track/black supports and SF Montreal's is the same color scheme as Batwing so if track was spotted then it isn't for any of those 3 parks. We'll just have to wait and see in a couple of weeks.
They should get a dueling wood called the Politician. One side would be the Republican and the other could be the Democrat. This idea might cause some riots though which wouldn't be to fun.

Ghettocoaster, you said that they need to add more flowers, plants, trees etc. before adding another coaster. And all I'm saying is to think about what brings in the money-the rides or the plants?

just wanted to clear up something that Jim said: the site work there were doing under Batwing was not ride-related whatsoever. They are installing new sewage pipes, so there won't be that big puddle of murky water at the drainage ditch under Superman, and might also be for the much-wanted bathrooms back in that area. The only other news I know of is that the Wild One is getting a sign for the entrance to the ride since it will be its 85th birthday, and lapbars for the Joker's Jinx is practically a given at this point.

well La Ronde isnt in North America, so there must be one more B&M coming to the USA if you know what you are talking about(which i doubt) /P>

La Ronde is in Canada... so it is in North America.
Intamin Fan: I know coasters bring in money, but it won't hurt SFA if they fix up Gotham City in some spots. Instead of walking down a path and looking at a field, add some shops/restaurants/bathrooms so people who don't ride Superman or Batwing have something to doand it allows people sitting on the benches to have some shade(trees). It also makes the park look better, nicer, cleaner. Just my opinion, and I do think SFA is a nice park from what I have seen, especially the entrance.
DrachenFire04 -- I know what I'm talking about...it seems you don't. Canada is indeed in North America. So is Mexico! I suggest you brush up on your geography. However I'm happy to re-state what I said in a different way to make it clearer to you:
There are two B&Ms coming to Six Flags parks in the US, and one B&M coming to Six Flags parks in Canada. Therefore there are three B&Ms coming to the North American continent.

Still batwing was pretty much in the public in Febuary when SFA broke the news, so I expect something this year, SFA claims as long as the attendence keeps up we should always expect world class thrills.I still have hope.
bigkirby, love your idea, but I'm sure the fights would arise when they start to discuss funding...LOL. mamoosh, does THIS mean SF Hawaii (being off the continent) is getting a B&M?...j/k, the La Ronde comment just tickled my funny bone...;~)
