Where abouts next to the tea cups? In the plant bed behind the tea cups where the old swinging bridge is at?
My guess is it was supposed to go on the site where octopus now sits, there's just no room anywhere near the tea cup ride that I can see for it.

A top spin would fit in nicely where sky escaper was though because they really need to do something with that site instead of leaving it empty & un-used year after year,it would'nt fit in very well where IE is because of the front to back rotational clearence required for the ride.

About flying carousel, they have had a few problems with it,one time last season it was closed all day & an access panel at the base of the ride was removed for maintenance purposes,I also recall overhearing about a problem with it in 97 or 98(can't remember which year though) about it refusing to stop spinning.

On that particular day I was in line for Python & there was a breakdown that required maintenance to reset a launch cable that popped out of it's guide track, while waiting for the ride to be repaired I overheard a mechanic on the radio say that they got the swings down but couldn't get it to stop spinning.

Speaking of older rides does anyone know what happened to the parks curvin dervish ride? it was removed after the 95 season & was located where Pirate's flight is at,I remember riding it back in 89 & it was fun,my guess is it used to sit where TOD is now & PF was where scrambler now sits but all of those rides got relocated in 94-95.

You can see it on the 95 park map on www.themeparkbrochures.com just go to the park map page & check out the Adventure world 95 map & you'll see where the ride was last located.

Looking at the whole park plan, it shows that a ride is approved for that spot by the tea cups, it was slated to go there, then someone changed their mind and sent it to Six Flags Darien Lake.

The curving dervish sits behind the white dome bldg (where Brutal Planet is during fright fest) in pieces, doesn't look re-useable. While on the lift for Two Face I spied the old gold train for the Wild One.

Also in addition to the rides they put in (the Octopus (or Quintapus cause it has Five Arms), and Alpine Bobs), SFA was supposed to get a trabant, it sat out near the python for the longest time, then went somewhere else, or was sold... it's not in the back anywhere, not even near the shrink wrapped OTSRs from Jokers Jinx.

never met a coaster I didn't ride (except Junior Geminii) :(

Are you saying that riders in the rafts of the Blizzard River ride left the raft? That is not safe at all, and to think the ride operators/attendants did nothing? I have been to SFA twice. My first visit was hell! My second was a little bit of hell frozen over with a combo of hell. I think the only reason my second trip was not too bad was because there was almost no people in the park. I don’t think they handle a large number of guests very well. I honestly think Batwing sucks, and the only reason I like the park is because of Roar, Wild one, and Superman. Two face is fun too. Everything else about the park stinks, and I honestly feel a racism issue brewing in that park. Hence, the location with a history those types of problems. As for safety on rides? It could be a lot better. They could have their rides more serviced to. Not to forget that a lot of rides where broken down, or broke down during the day, but thankfully re-opened later in the day.
woodencyclone, I think you might want to read the original post again. The ride ops did do something.
My guess is they got scared & unbuckled their seatbelts then jumped out,now that was really stupid on their part & should've earned them a one way ticket out of the park.

They added the seatbelts to the ride either before or shortly after it opened because riders on DF at SFAW were doing the same thing for whatever reason & SFA didn't want the same thing happening on their ride as well.

I don't ever recall seeing any ride parts back where python's track is stored,my guess is the trabant may have been originally planned for the spot occupied by Krypton comet, but at the last minute they thought a chaos would be a better investment, too bad curving dervish is beyond repair though:( it was a fun little ride to go on back in it's glory days at the park & I can't believe they still have the OTSR's from JJ,I thought they re-designed and built brand new trains for it last year.

Nope, just modified the trains, though I don't know how those beautiful logo decals on the front of the trains wound up gone. I know they were there when JJ had OTSR but they seem to be off since the modification. I'm guessing they were scratched or in some other way damaged somewhere in transit or at Premiers facitlities so the park just removed them to keep the look clean. Hopefully we'll see them back on by next season!

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

I-Fan,

Wanted to let you know I had a great time at SFA tonight. It was nice to see Batwing running two trains (to bad the third train has been stripped for parts they really could have used it tonight since the queue was completely full) and S:ROS looks like it is back to it's old self with two trains running. I actually saw the queue line for Wild One completely full this evening.

The park looks great, first time I have ever seen the organ key and the hidden voice show in Skull Island that was pretty neat. Terror in Tombtowne is really an excellent show.

Thanks to WPGC being at the park this evening, the park was pretty full. The fullest I have ever seen it. I hope the weather is nice next weekend, I have reserved the whole weekend to riding coasters since it will be the final weekend in the season.

Please let your co-worked know they did a great job this evening.

Cool, glad you had a good time. We were mobbed today. S:ROS had some problems, but they seemed to be resolved later on. I believe I saw BatwingFanSFA on my ride, Krypton Comet earlier in the day. He was wearing an Outer Limits Flight of Fear t-shirt. I didn't have any time to talk however. I busted my ass all day to get people loaded, due to seats we had to lock out on Comet. Good old Chance Rides. I actually wound up using a second switchback in my line because the line was spilling out onto the midway! That was exciting. I was happy also to see two trains on Batwing when I logged out with my supervisor tonight, who's a control op. I think you can blame most of the crowd on the nice weather. I was actually overheating as opposed to Friday night, when I had on a thermal t-shirt, sweatshirt, gloves, and a hat, and was still shivering like mad.

Did anyone ever bother trying out the seats on the KMG Tango? And if so, were they male?
I think the nice weather and the #1 Radio Station in the area had something to do with the crowds. At one point the "Streetbeast" was being swarmed by people wanting prizes the radio personalities had to tell everyone to step back or they were going to stop giving prizes out.
So it was you that we saw when exiting Krypton comet? I havn't ridden that thing in a couple of years(due to the MIADV incident in 01) but was glad to finally work up the guts to get back on it.

When did they put Batwing on 2 train op? when I rode earlier in the day it was running the standard single train op,but the lines were moving rather well considering the crowds yesterday.

S:ROS was packed! I've never seen the line stretch all the way back to the overflow queue since it first opened in 2000,good thing they had both trains running.

Did anyone notice that Falling star is getting a new paint job?instead of the faded teal blue it's now got a new coaat of dark blue paint although there are still a few spots that havn't been done yet but it's a start, now all they need to do is re- paint Mind eraser.

For some reason Wild One didn't open until after 4 pm,my guess is the employees must've either been on break or not yet ready to report to work because no one was at controls at all & the entrance was closed off.

All in all it was a good day at the park except for the crap we had to put up with over fastlane,on 3 of the coasters Wild one,S:ROS & Roar we had to deal with the ops allowing fastlaners to pick their own seats, the worst problems were on Wild one & as a result we had to wait about 4x as long just to get on then if this system of paid line jumping did not exist.

I also took care of getting my 04 pass, the park is even processing 2004 season pass ID's during frightfest which is good because now I'm set for next season,I just have to stop by & pick up my season pass calander on my first visit in 04.

As for fastlane:we decided to file a complaint at guest relations asking that this system be removed from the park alltogether & I also plan to send them an E-mail about it,this system of "paid line jumping" is no good & just makes the wait times longer for everyone else,it'll probably take a riot or fight breaking out over the slow loading due to this system to get it removed because alot of people(especially in line on WO) were very upset over it.

Did anyone see what happened over by Batwing last night? while in line for S:ROS we saw a medic unit in a small cart driving down the midway in that general area,I hope no one was injured somehow,I know it's not anything major but I just thought I'd pass that info along.

You know, I don't have a problem with Fastlane, pay $10 to go to the head of the line on five rides ($2.00 per ticket). I thought about getting Fastlane last night and would have had I not had to trek all the way back to the front of the park to get the tickets. Perhaps they should move Fastlane to the both next to Joker's Jinx. Let's consider a alternative. They could rope off the Fastlane seats and don't load them like they were last season.

Batwing started running two trains around 4:00.

S:ROS started out with two trains today, but after two trains got stuck twice on the lift (they still got their rides), they decided to pull the blue train. The red train rocks anyway. Batwing started out ok but got closed down for a long period, and re-opened later on in the day. The park was fairly empty compared to yesterday, and the predicted rain unfortunately came. I was soaked operating Krypton Comet. Cruel moment of the day: A medium sized group of Coaster enthusiasts asking me "Rob do you want to go ride coasters with us?", knowing that I couldn't. I haven't ridden a coaster since August 19th, at the employee party. As they say "It'll be there next year".

Sorry to hear that I-Fan. I hope you get to take the coasters for a spin this weekend.
I know I'll be there on saturday( weather permitting of course) to get my final laps for the season in.
I'm afraid unless I get a second break, change my shirt (since I can't ride in uniform), and hop on Roar (the safest to get in line both for time and reliability), that I'll be working all weekend. Everyone else enjoy the last weekend, the weather should be fine.

Tell you what I-Fan, Batwing Fan SFA and I will operate Krypton Comet while you take a spin on a couple of the coasters.... What do ya got to loose, it's the last weekend the parks open, come Monday morning you will have plenty of time to meet with the lawyers who will represent you in your unlawful termination lawsuit (I'M JUST JOKING :) )

hmmm, what's this big red button that says STOP do.

Eh, Batwing Fan SFA, I get the microphone first.

Sorry Guts but I think I'll pass on your offer,I've got too many laps to get in on S:ROS..as well as the other coasters to get in before the end of the season is upon us.

I-Fan have you decided yet on weather or not you're gonna work as an op at SFA for the 04 season? it would really be great to see you at the park more often & it's an honor of sorts to visit any attraction that's being run by a fellow enthusiast & C-buzz member such as yourself.

If you do decide to remain employed at SFA then I'll probably see you there next season.
