a nice surprise met me at the Superman loading platform today. They removed the last row of rails from the superman queue so now you don't have to fight to get by the people waiting for the last seats on the train.......
Also, there is an area in the furthest parking lot now sporting a brand new fence. It appears that they are planning on having something that needs to be stored with a fence perimeter....
could it be............
Coaster Pieces???????

Can you show a pic of the new perimeter fencing by any chance?this does sound promising for next year & it seems that my source may have been right after all about the rumored coaster for 05 for all those who didn't believe the information I posted a couple of months ago.
Man did I have a great time at PKD yesterday & I'll be sure to post a full TR about it,things have been a bit hectic around here as I recieved some rather sad news this morning.
I was informed this morning that my father, who had just turned 59 this past friday had passed away saturday morning at 11 am :( he had been suffering from HIV for over 10 years but at least now he's in a much better place & the funeral is scheduled for later this week so I'm gonna be quite busy over the next few days.

S:ROS's red train was hauling some major kister on Sunday. I honestly believe I received my best ride ever on this coaster. The airtime on the third hill was endless. Not to mention I go the first ride of the day in seat 1.1 after the coaster opened an 1 1/2 hours late. But it was a wait well worth it.
I also noticed Colonial Cupboard is getting alot more business after they got rid of all the windows. A second Ben and Jerry's stand has opened up in the former Rita's(?) Snow Cone Stand across from The Flying Carousel. Panda Express is open and doing a booming business. However, the parks midways need a good scrubing down. Coyote Creek and The Entry Plaza look nice and clean. But, Skull Island and Gotham City were down right nasty.
I hope SFA does get a new coaster this year. How long has it been for the park that was supposed to become the "SFMM, SFGAM, or SFWOA?" Err, oh. Nevermind.

I cannot take a pic from the top of S:ROS's 2nd hill, and the lot is not visible from anywhere else (without trespassing, which nobody better do)

In all honesty and sincerity folks, Sam has good connections with the park and would be the first of us to know if something was coming to the park. As always, thanks Sam for your new info and insight.
All I saw was a peculiar fence, in a place where it would serve no other purpose but to be an out of eyesight place to store something, that they might wish to keep out of sight as much as possible. :)
Also, the park has cut the grass down around Superman.
As for the fence location I think it's one of two or even three possible things.
One:it could be for the storage of new ride components(probably a coaster)....just how big is the fenced off area at least from what you could see from S:ROS's 2nd drop?
Two: the park recently had a special sports related event with freestyle BMX & skating last weekend(source entertainment weekly magazine) so what was seen could've been fencing being removed rather than installed.
Three: this weekend the park is hosting retro music day on saturday the 17th,a concert is scheduled at some time during the day(most likely in the waterpark) but this is the most unlikely possibility because the park has held concerts in the past & no fences were ever put up anywhere in the parking lots that I can recall.
Reason number one seems most likely at this point because if the park wants to add a major ride/coaster to coyote creek the overflow lot is the closest spot to the construction site, looking at the overhead view of SFA there do not appear to be any service roads that vehicles(especially flatbed trucks) can easily travel through from gotham city(superman/Batwing service roads)to coyote creek where any new coaster is most likely to go seeing as how, according to my source the ride won't have a DC comics theme.
We'll just have to keep an eye on that area of the park for the remainder of the season to see what if anything ends up being stored over there & also keep an eye out for any markers near that general area to indicate exactly where a new ride might be located.

BTW, if you get a chance to get out to the park, whether to investigate this fence or just to ride some rides, make sure you see the Country Music Show in the Saloon. I saw the 2:00 show on Sunday and this show is a major improvement over last year and is really kicking some but. Also, the park has cut the grass down around Superman.
We saw the same show on our trip, it was a nice diversion while it was raining.
Maybe they read my trip report...remember one of my beefs was how ratty the landscape looked around Superman!!
So far it seems to be coming together.... first with the blurb from maintenance workers on opening weekend to a group at the park, then the information given to me via IM a month or two ago & now the fence going up in the parking lot.
SFACOASTERGUY781:any word yet on what type of B&M it'll be?I'm hoping for a floorless myself but if it turns out to be the stand up that was put on hold due to Batwing then I won't mind...from what my source told me about it the new ride requires county approval prior to construction so I'm thinking it'll be a floorless, also do you have any idea on just how soon track might begin showing up?
I've already got a good name for the ride....SFA can use the name Renegade for the coaster,it'll be perfect for the coyote creek section & in fact that name worked wonders in a recent RCT2 park of mine.
