SF new web site.

Just when you thought they could do no worse, they "trim-brake" the website. Never seen so many broken links, pics in my life. Pathetic!

Damn, it's times like these that I miss the old Six Flags site with the white background.

Anyone remember those good ol' days??

At least with those times, you could play that cool boomerang game and some kind of maze game... I don't see any games on the modern pages... not to mention that a lot of information is either missing, dated, or just wrong!

coasterdude318 first off there old site was only 6 to 8 months old at that. 2nd. It is inexcusable for a corperation to launch, such a bug ridden product to the public. They should have paid some one to test it and fix any problems that arouse. Now these problems could be due to the site being changed. Hence the fact that you get the old page or the new page dependign when you click.

Nate, the point is that the new Six Flags site is far more error-ridden than anything Cedar Fair or Paramount has deemed to put up. I'm looking at the Worlds of Adventure subpage right now, and according to the pictures, Batman Knight Flight is an inverted. Even better, if you click on the picture, the new page that comes up shows not only an inverted, but tells you that the coaster's name is Batman Dark Knight.

Superman Ultimate Escape is apparently a B&M flyer. Click through on Mind Eraser, and you see a picture of an SLC (it's not, it's a Boomerang).

These are all just on ONE parks sub-page. Similar problems abound all over the place.

There are so many problems with this site it's just not funny. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and believe it's a bad rollout, but...ow... Someone needs to pay more attention to what they're doing...

Okay, but who cares if they portray BKF as an inverted coaster? Nobody but us.

I don't see any real problems with the site, other than some crappy Flash animation on the "pick a park" page and the fact that the park front pages are a little manic. I don't see any broken links or pictures anywhere.

All new sites have bugs. It's been out for, what, ten minutes and people are picking it apart. My point is that *nobody* did that for the new Paramount/CF sites.

-Nate

These aren't just bugs. Try going to Six Flags St. Louis. You get one giant error message! I guess they closed that park.... ;)

Is the site an April Fools joke or what. Half or most pages came back as red Xs. Most Midwestern Parks don't seem to exist, etc.....

Another error... On the SFDL page they show the Viper (an Arrow 5 looper) as 2 different coasters... One pic has a woodie named Viper and the 2nd pic is of Goliath at SFMM complete with Colosuss(sp?) in the background. Wierd.

"You think you know me..."

Those little things aren't that big a deal, but incorrect links, missing links, missing parks, etc are! :)

What was wrong with the old design? This new design sucks. The color is bad, it takes forever to load, tons of red X's, and 404 messages. Someone needs to fix this public relations mess NOW.

Perhaps the site was hacked? I find it hard to believe any corporation would allow that many mistakes.

These errors are a big deal for people who are planning trips to these parks and don't know anything about them. If the information about the rides is wrong, it could cause some trouble with visitors. Not everyone can be such geniuses like us coasterbuzzers, damn right.

Im going to give it a positive review, I really like the new design and everything seems to be working fine for me. I have no problems with images and its very quick. Alot better than the old design!

I've always loathed the Six Flags site. It is such a waste of bandwidth, and for someone like myself who is (unfortunately) on a dialup connection, it takes way too long to beable to view the site. I definitely like the new look, but I doubt i'll be spending any quality time searching through this site looking for pictures or stats of any ride with all these problems.... and especially since coasterbuzz hosts photos now ;)

So far I have yet to find any errors. The site looks great IMO! Maybe by now they have worked out the major kinks in it...as most websites do have some kinks in them at first. They usually get ironed out quickly.

Navigationally this is much better than the site that they had before.

It's not just your connection... the site is slooooooow. I don't think it's a bandwidth issue, I just think it's poorly coded. And it's ASP, which is so last year. ;)

Looks like they're on Cable & Wireless' network. There's the problem. Wouldn't be my first choice in providers considering they're barely hanging on. Lovely stock price too.

In all fairness, the layout and "look" is better than it was. The navigation is significantly better. However, I think it's generally lame the way they can't even get the right information and images with the right rides. A rep from each park should've been able to proof it long before the site went into production (which obviously happened in stages last night). And Nate, settle down. Paramount and Cedar Fair have both been criticized extensively for their sites, you just want to make noise.

The site is fine, quite your whinging!

It seems that they launch a new site near the start of each new season .. Which seems to make sense for me.

And I hardly think anyone on here can gripe about the new colour scheme of that site .. when the new colour scheme here is anything but plesent!

The site is a huge improvement over the old and there is much more information pertaining to each park. (guests with disabilities, park maps, etc.) Overall, I think many of you are being a bit rough. The site was hammered by enthusiast going crazy over its new layout. I'm sure we had something to do with pages not loading and the errors. I have had no difficulty but I will admit that they could use a faster pipe if they want to use so much flash. Hopefully they will iron out the legitimate mistakes pertaining to the information but overall I like the new look much better.
I gotta agree with Nate, I think the new site is fine. I surfed around last night for about twenty minutes and barely got any broken links and what not. Sure, some of the pics aren't really of the rides they're supposed to be of, but I can look past that. Some of the new pics are really nice.

I like the new look much better than the old look as well. If they fix the few broken links they have, it's all good. Great job!

No, Jeff. Take a look at all the criticism in this thread, most of which was obviously completely unwarranted because the site was obviously not completely finished when it went up (and was fixed within an hour or two). Now show me where anyone has ever criticized CF or Paramount for site updates.

Paramount just updated their site, actually, and there's a discussion about it here. Nobody has *one* bad thing to say about the new sites. Yet Six Flags updates their site and enthusiasts are ripping on it in five minutes. Talk about a double standard.

So no, I'm not "just making noise." I think I have a valid point I'd like to see you try to refute.
