SF never ceases to amaze me. Arg!

So I'm at SFNE last night. Fright fest is going on, and you'd think that the management would be doing everything possible to get folks out of the ride lines and into the lines for the halloween haunted events where you have to pay extra $$ to get in. But in that great SF wisdom, essentially every coaster was in 1 train operation. Okay I can see S:ROS with the Red Train in the shop for maintenance, but B:DK, Mind Eraser, Cyclone, etc, etc, etc. After standing around for over an hour for S:ROS and then another 35 minutes for B:DK, I'll admit that I wasn't in any type of mood to open the wallet up and shell out extra cash for "fearanoia". Maybe if the managment had half a clue, they'd realize that they'd make alot more cash by keeping the ride lines short so that more folks can have the time to go into the paid haunted attractions.

You have a good point. But, if they kept the one-train operation, then people would go,"Wow that line is long! Why don't we just do some of the halloween stuff." I know it costs extra money, but maybe the Gp would be willing to do that.

On the other hand, they are rides and it is an amusement park, so why are they only running two trains?

Fearanoia was free at SFA!

The thing is that no one is spending money when they are standing in line... Why else would Disney make their fastpass system free?

SF would do themselves a big favor by making wait times less. Besides, who would visit the park again if their experience was that bad?

Yea, Fearanoia is free @ SFNE. You may be thinking about Brutal Planet or Terrorvisions 3D.

The truth is that 35 minutes is not a long wait to the gp.

The below statement is true.
The above statement is false.

I had the same type experience at SFOG this past Friday night. First off every ride had single train operation except SUF, and Acrophobia was closed. All the queues were filled up more than they had been on every one of my previous visits throughout the year. There were no scare-actors throughout the park until 10p.m. and even then they all looked exactly the same with orange jumpsuits and long shaggy black hair. There was supposidly this Feronia game going on, but I never saw any of those bodytagger people that were suppose to try and steal your tag. All I know is that Fright Fest at SFOG is the most pathetic thing I've ever witnessed at a theme park.

I can't wait till next week when i get to go to HHn at IOA!

Were the other trains on the transfer track or were they gone from the ride?

First off, i would wait over an hour for S:RoS. You think that is bad?? Try waiting 2 1/2 hrs for Volcano, 2 hrs for FoF, 30 mins for woodies, and hypersonic closed. THAT is bad!

Those orange suited people running around with the hair were the "bodytaggers".

It's not just a Six Flags thing, believe me. On some of my excursions last year I experienced one train operation on a) Phantom's Revenge (with an hour-and-half wait in the hot sun, and yes, I'm aware it only had one train) b) both Phoenix and Twister at Knoebels c) Hercules, Laser, and Thunderhawk at Dorney.

Dude, you're getting an Intamin!
I went to SFMW yesterday and the OVERFLOW parking was full, they had more than a 2 hour wait for Medusa and it was only running one train. Must have had problems with the other two...

Um...he wasn't particularly upset about the waits so much as the fact that SFNE made no effort to reduce them with more trains.

I'll tell you why they are only running one train operation. It's the end of the season and the operating budget for the year has been pretty much exhausted. The Six Flags parks simply don't have the allowance necessary to run the rides efficiently and are eeking by on a bare bones staff. I'm sure it's not how management at the individual park want to operate, but they don't have much choice in the matter. Blame the boys in Oklahoma City.

Weird that they charge extra for the haunted houses at your park, they don't do that here in Houston.

At sgfam they also charge extra for ALL gthe haunted houses!!! And if that is corporate policy to run trains at such a limited capacity it is no wonder the company has fiscal problems!!

You know, it's funny that Cedar Point took a subtle stab at SFWoA in their radio spots, plugging their Halloween event with the tag "all attractions are included with admission!"

Ok, we're obviously bashing Six Flags, but is my time not valuable at a Cedar Fair park also? Is all the budget being spent at Cedar Point, and not the the other parks? Why did they have three rides in July running one-train operation last year Jeff at Dorney Park? I'd like an answer.

Dude, you're getting an Intamin!
Hmmm...can we bash individual SF parks and not the whole company. SFGAM rarely, if EVER, runs less than two trains on any coaster (minus deja vu and v2, of course :))

Are we having another SF-poor capacity discussion? Can I jump in? "Ok, I would rather slide down a razor blade on my bare butt, swabbed in Alcohol, than wait at a Six Flag park offering only one train operation." Thanks for letting me participate. Good night.

There's nothing like a woodie...

Rarely if ever will you see a one train operation at SFGAm except for the 2 listed by CoastaFreak so it must be on an individual basis and not by corporate.

Thats one of the reasons that the Chicago park usually gets high praise for its operations.
