SF lies on their website

LOL. Looks like even I mixed up what coasters were the first back-to-back looping! Oh well. Thanks for pointing that out HurricaneGeauga.

I am bored.

You have to think that the people that run the website for SF have no idea about amusment park industry or roller coasters that SF have at thier various parks. They propably are going on information from corporate that was in some old file cabnet in cold storage.

Thats not the only place they lie, just look at each individual park page, I can find at least 3 errors per park....

....7 for SFDL!

It is really ridiculous about how sloppy the web site is about the info on rides and attractions. Some info is either completely embellished or just wrong!! But the companies can get away with it since most of the GP isn't that knowledgeable about rides, as some enthusiasts are.:)

I noticed something quite curious on the SFNE site. Apparently the Thunderbolt is 98' tall. Is that true? I haven't been there since 1984, but I don't think it's grown since then, although I have.

SFDL, I wouldn't call that lying per se.  It is just oversights and errors.  Do you really think they'd want to lie and give S:ROS(an Intamin Hyper) the decription of S:UE(an Intamin Impulse).  Its just mistakes.  Its kind of funny.  In six flags' defense they have over 40 parks--that is MANY more than any other park chain.  You think a regular website is hard to update and maintain, you can imagine what it would be like to update a site a that magnitude, to keep it updated with events, keep info on all the rides, and have all their stats.  ALSO, the people that do the website are probably not big theme park people, they are computer people, and they may not miss an oversight of something such as a S:ROS and S:UE mix-up.  Its not really an excuse, but you need to recognize that six flags' website is not the only thing their business needs to maintain, and it is quite an endevour.
As for all these 'lies' they have, you need to realize if it were not for a company such as six flags constantly pushing the envelope on regional parks, other regional parks would not be as advanced and large as they are now.  If CF didn't have competition, expecially from SF, there wouldn't be a MF.  Why?  There is no glory for them to build magnificant rides--in order for a company to constantly improve their own stuff, they need to have competition.  This is true in any business or industry.  You should be happy for six flags--as a conglomerate, they are home to the best rides in the world.
