SF Elitch Gardens 2002

This should give SFEG fans hope of something new in the near future.
"Thanks for a great season. Be sure to check back here when we announce the exciting NEW ride coming in 2002!"

Hopefully it will be something awesome...I know this is greedy but I hope SFGAdv gets something too.

Screamscape rumors point to an S&S attraction. I'd be fine with that.

I noticed a lot of land clearing going on behind the water park. What could that be?

S&S attraction eh...then my official guess is one a 'dem purdy S&S Absolutely Insane models.

I can't see them getting a drop or shot tower with the Intamin they already have.

SFEG getting a new ride though...wow, that hasn't happened yet this millennium!  ;)

Wow, America's website just says to look forward to an exciting 2002 season (of course who knows what that means). Congratulations SFEG on whatever you're getting.

SFA 2002-What are they building?

SFEG needs new rides, but more upcharge attractions are not the answer.  IMO this is not what will bring more people into the park.  I want a coaster!

I am going to have to disaggree to a certain point with you Mustang.
I do believe that its about time that they installed something noteworthy, however, an upcharge attraction may indeed be something else they should consider.

An S&S Insane sounds like a possibility since they already have a drop ride, and the Insanes take up very little real estate. It would be nice to see an Arrow Mad Mouse or an Impulse, however, and like I have said in the past, it highly depends on their yearly attendence figures and research.

Maybe theyre getting Viper from SFOG

Doubt they're getting Tidal Wave... they already have an Arrow shuttle loop, why bring in a second shuttle loop?
-----------------
Hi! I'm Hungry, whats your name?
I have never been there because there is nothing in that park , with the exception of Mr.Twister, to travel all the way from NYC. I do know though that this park is in dire need of 'anything' new! If the people that manage this park have any buisness sense then they would get a nice 4.500ft+ rollercoaster.  B&M or Intamin or another woodie!
TrBiggar-You mean third shuttle loop? They have a Boomerang too. :)

Trackricanstuction-Actually, it's Twister II. Mr. Twister was at the old Elitch's which is now defunct. :(

Ha ha -- Viper, new for 2002!

Actually, it's still in the employee parking lot at SFOG.

If you got it, you could boast being the shuttle capitol of the world!  Now how 'bout that?

Trackricanstuction,
One BIG reason why they don't have that yet. Space. They are surrounded by train tracks and a stadium. I'll find the Mapquest image for you.

Hey bigkirby, click north on your link once and look at the big space between the waterpark and the bridge.

Do they even own that? I think is they could have expanded that way, they already would have. Yo do make a good point. I think they should move the waterpark off park property to a new location (ala Soak City) and combine that with the empty space and there will be the location for any new coaster.
Edit: What's that green/white thing next to the waterpark? A wave pool?

They could buy that land bigkirby, and they probably wouldn't have expanded it yet because Six Flags has neglected SFEG the past few years, I think a new coaster is exactly what they need, but not another clone!!! Something new, something great, a stand up would be nice, I don't think it will be anything like a hyper, Elitch's isn't ready for that, and they could always go around the perimeter of the park, and I don't see why they can't also build a parking garage and go into to the parking lot for space, but than again money is a big factor.  And also, who knows what this ride will be, we don't know it is a coaster, but I hope it is!!! There is also some land across the river on both sides of the Ocean Journey Aquarium, I know there was already a forum about that land a couple months ago, but there is a lot, that could be a site for future expansion, not any time soon, but in the future possibly.

Actually they have gotten a new ride this millenium, but just a turbobungy I think is what they called it, it is one of those flatland rides where your on a trampoline and on cords and you jump around and stuff, not that this is anything big, but it is a new ride.

Why do people think parks are "neglected?" Is Six Flags bad parents or something?

GO CU! Big 12 Champs!
Exactly PT300, here's a good analigy, Six Flags are the parents, and Elitch Garden's is the child, a child needs food to surive, you must feed it food, you must feed a park rides to survive, or else it starves to death, or goes out of business.  And roller coasters are like big meals, and flatland rides are like snacks, and a kid can't live his intire life on snacks!
