Screamin' Swing at the point next year?

Honestly, I'd like to see them take the next 5 years and not build any coasters, but beef up their flatride lineup. I wouldn't mind a larger Screamin Swing, but I'd rather see a top spin of some sort, perhaps a Jump2, top scan, and some other major and family flats. Then I'd like to see them add a family coaster, be it a spinny mouse, or whatever.

The tallest, fastest, or most inversions on a flying coaster would be doable...just sayin' is all.

To CP: PLEASE don't take that as a recommendation....oh Lord, what have I done??!!? ;)

ROFL! :)

P.S. As for flats...in addition to the Jump2, there's also *dueling* Top Scans, they don't really have any kind of Top Spin (which really is becoming an obvious addition for any megapark that doesn't already HAVE one, but I'd go with the Mondial Splashover, that thing was KEWL), the aforementioned Sally Dark (and flat) ;) Ride, or, and this is a long shot...they could resurrect Knott's Tampico Tumbler if they wanted to do something "just for gator"....LOL! :)

P.P.S. Don't forget, there's now a *second* S&S Swatter out there....wonder if DK & Co. need to take a "fact-finding trip" to the UK to try it out. Better than having to take a *business trip* to Houston, no? ;)

Wow, I really *am* pure trouble...have a FUNTASTIC day ya'll...:) *** Edited 6/18/2005 3:44:50 AM UTC by rollergator***

They can build a record breaking 250 foot INTAMIN woodie! And don't give me that BS about SOB @ PKI! Intamin make that new prefab ultra smooth low maintenence woodie track. Thay can build a 600'x1400' L shaped double out and back like Preditor @ SFDL but with a 75* first drop on the beach from just south of the public area to around DT and using just a narrow stretch of parking lot land in the overflow parking lot behind Demon Drop using that for the lifthill, station and brake run. I believe the south side of the beach is at least 150 feet wide and 200 plus feet on the noth end just south of the public area. I also think I've heard that CP owns up to 35 feet past the shoreline so they can put up a concrete dike there like Crystal Beach did for the Comet.

It is a FACT that The Voyage is the greatest thing on the planet!!

I won't give you that crap as long as you promise to tell me how every other 250 prefab intamin you've been on was...

Huh? How are they? I mean, they're all smooth, right? Every park is gunning for one and all, right?

Unless it's an upcharge ride in Chalenge Park, I doubt we would see an S&S swing at CP. On second thought, why would anyone pay to ride one when MaXair is included in the price of admission?

On topic (lol), I wish B&M would build higher than they do. Wouldn't it be great to see a 530 ft Dive Machine at CP. Wow!

My realistic vote is for midsized wood.

By the way, Batman Begins was great!

Yes. Batman Begins was awesome. Thankfully, Joel Smuck didn't do this one. Any time you see a superhero with rubber nipples and molded butt plates, you know something is wrong, even when you're not yet an adult...
It was awesome because Christian Bale is a bad ass. Another great film with him was Equilibrium.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
TeknoScorpion every TR about Balder and Colossos has been positive and the ride has been smooth. I haven't heard of an Intaimin plug N play woodies that has been rough. If you go to some of the threads on Great Adventure Source's forum a few people has said the same thing about how much smoother those Intamin giant woodies are and they are too frustrated when other people say that a record breaking rideable woodie cannot be built because they are comparing it to SOB. No if they buiilt a giant 250 foot tall hyperwoodie with that very cheap LOW QUALITY Southern Yellow pine crap that SOB uses (someone please correct me if I am wrong about the track material that is being used on SOB) than people would have a point! It than would be WAY TOO ROUGH using that cheap quality yellow pine crap. Douglas Fir is the ONLY way to go for using as track material. A friend of mine rode Rattler in it's opening year with the original 166 foot drop and she said it was smooth even though it was intense and that is because the track was douglas fir not that cheap crap called Southern Yellow Pine. *** Edited 6/18/2005 7:00:58 AM UTC by Pink Floyd Fanatic***

You said 'those intamin giant woodies', but in reality, only two pre-fab wooden coasters have been built, and only one of them is over 120' (granted that is half, but still).

Neither are over 200'. At this point, we don't have a point of ref. to say 'they should build a 250' pre-fab woodie', because we don't yet know if it will work. That was the point I was making. There are plenty of other coasters that are probably just as smooth as those 2 that are also not 200'.

I've heard good things about it too. I'm not saying it can't be done. I just don't think saying they should be the first is a wise decision, seeing as how the last time they built a mega woody, which I personaly don't find rought, it turned out to be ultra boring and not very popular. Besides that, hearing good things about 2 pre-fab coasters, neither of which is even 5 years old yet doesn't mean anything in the long run. Was every wooden coaster that is rough now rough when it was still new? Granted, some were, and others it didn't take long. But I just don't think these have had much time to make a decision that they'll always be smooth, yet.

I don't think they need a mega woody, they have 2 others to take care of before they go and build something over 250' tall.

You got it, an Intamin pre-fab woodie suitably named, "Son of Mean Streak."

I rode FT's Rattler back when the park opened.

Not smooth.

For what it's worth, anyway.

How about an Intamin looping hyper? they could go for most inversions on that. The only looper they have is corkscrew, which was cool for it's day but it is getting a little tired. It could be built out back by MF island and that side of frontier town. They could actually give it a little length, kinda like Maggie but with inversions.

Been going to the Point for over 30 years and still love it!!!!!!!!!!!
If a park, any park, goes for 500 feet, I would like to see something like an Impulse/S:TE type ride. It would be like an impulse except that it would ride above the track like S:TE and have 2 large towers. It could be racing or dueling and do the 3 forward launches and 2 backwards. With 500+ foot towers, there would be a ton of air and it would be really cool if they could make it duel like with 4 tracks, 2 each way. Anyway, that is my idea for a longer ride that is 500 feet and not 100 million bucks.
one thing we have learned is if u say CP has no land...they always prove us wrong

please please please if its a woodie no taller than 140ft..and thats pushing it

above someone said a hyper along the beach, CP already has the pure definition of a hyper coaster in magnum, why would they have a company, who only builds so-so hyper speed coasters, come in and build one. However, i do see b&m coming in to build build a floorless hyper coaster, with inversions if CP ever goes forth with an invert.

Perosanly, i think whatever CP builds in 2007 will be the biggest surprise since magnum, if not more of one

What I was at SFAW in Houston in 2003, I really like the flat ride "Swat" That would be a cool one to have at CP.
