Screamin Swing @ Kennywood in 06!

It doesn't go upside down like the Aero. It goes slightly above 100degrees.

Hi

110 degrees to be exact.

razore86 - What is there to understand? It swings back and forth...like a schoolyard swing, except higher. That's all it does.

I live here in Pittsburgh and have never been to Knott's or seen the ride in action before. I just wasn't sure if it swings or goes all the way around, but kpjb answered my question. Thanks.

If you want to see video of the ride, go to this site, choose S&S Power, select the Screamin' Swing, and click video.

The ride brochure and stats are also on there.

Keep in mind that the video is only of the 8-seat prototype, though, and not the model that we're getting.

Thanks for the link. The video for the ride seems to not be on that site at this time, but I read the description and understand now. Thanks!

The video's working fine for me. For some reason, it says "movie not available at this time" while it's loading. For me on broadband, that's only a couple seconds, but if you have dial up it may say that for awhile before it starts.

I think it looks like a "silly fun" ride. I wouldn't pay an upcharge fee to ride it so this seems like a really good move. The KW crowd will eat it up.

Isn't Dorney supposed to be getting one this season? (upcharge, of course) I seem to remember hearing that somewhere.

Yeah, they're getting the 8-person Knott's version. I assume it'll go where the Skyscraper thingy they took out was.

Hi

Not necessarily. After having seen/ridden the one at Knott's, it doesn't really need all that much room. The Skyscraper, however, needed a lot of room for proper clearances. With that said, Personally I think it'd be a waste of room if they put it in where the skyscraper used to stand. There's the land behind the Revolution next to Steel Force's station, not to mention up by the Ferris Wheel. Also, I remember a thread a while back on Dorney Online where someone was saying that they should put flats in the area next to the Thunderhawk by the scrambler (I don't think this would fit there, though) and also where the Hummers have been the past 2 years next to the Wild Mouse and Coasters. Don't forget the land next to the train along Haines Mill Road (next to Thunder Canyon), which could be used as well (although not likely - the Screamin' Swing makes a boatload of noise due to the compressed air, and the train isn't even allowed to blow the whistle along that stretch of track because of neighbor complaints)

Lake Compounce is naming their screaming swing thunder & Lightning. It will seat 32 and will not be an upcharge. I think they should have had a contest to name it.
Dorney's swing is going in right next to Wild Mouse. If you've been to the park the last two years, there has been a couple of cars on the lawn for display. The swing will go there. This information comes from DP PR Dept.
