Scream! arrivals continue at the Mountain

Posted | Contributed by xbombman

Several new track sections and supports have arrived for Scream!, the new B&M Floorless expected to open in the spring at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The latest arrivals include the top of the lift-hill and dip.

Stairs and other miscellaneous items have arrived and are being stored underneath X. They are most likely for X's transfer track, which is currently being modified.

Hmmm....Magnum XL 200 the condom coaster, CP's new coaster will be called Magnum XXL 400. If you don't remember, there already is a rocket coaster. *** This post was edited by ALEEN6E6 on 11/20/2002. ***
jkpark, I don't know what your talking about either. NEW and DIFFERENT type of coaster? Six Flags built the first Intamin hyper, first floorless coaster, first(USA) Impulse, first 4D, first LSM launch coaster and first inverted. Hello? anybody home?

Now jkpark, that was the first true thing I've read in a long time. I don't know what you are talking about. The majority of people that are going to go to CP will know well in advance of their visit what the coaster is. No suspense there. Moreover, how many non-geeks are even aware of CPs ride? You cant be kept in suspense over something that isnt there. And coming up with so-called "new and different" thrills doesnt mean much. I mean OBVIOUSLY Cedar Point doesnt even lend credence to this allegation as NOTHING they install is "new". It's all about providing what people will like. Doesnt matter if it's new or old.

Look if you're a CP fanboy, that's fine, the world takes all kinds. But your post was silly pointless and most importantly inappropriate for this particular thread. My dollar offer still stands.

As for Swoosh, being a poor college student is a "rite of passage". I suggest donating sperm or plasma for beer money ;)

LOL. Cedar Point doesn't suck and doesn't treat their guests bad because they name their rides better than other parks? That was pretty lame jkpark. A lot of Cedar Point's ride names are ew.

Magnum XL-200, Mean Streak, Disaster Transport, The Wildcat, Mantis (why would you name it after an insect?), Wicked Twister.

jkpark has no argument.

Never mind about the dollar Hostyl have this weekend covered. :) I do have a question though, I looked at your profile and noticed there are 6 people in the picture. Now you can't be all 6 of them (or can you ;) ) so which one are you (if any of them)? Enquiring minds want to know.

Oh come on, I promise I will shut up if you give me a dollar :)

Scarlet and grey supports and blue and yellow track

Michigan and OSU colors, ironic.

ok i know no one cares and lets not argue about this weekends game.

quit complaining about stupid things like spelling and abreviations. It's not worth it.

Swoosh: It is apparent that you have not been playing along at home. I would think it would be cut-and-dried, black-and-white obvious which person I am in the pic (and yes, I *am* in the pic :)).

Recall that old "Sesame Street" refrain: "One of these kids is doing his own thing. One of these kids is not the same...."

Nope it's apparent that it was Wednesday. :)

Actually I do remember you saying something about that awhile back and I had a brain fart last night when I posted that. My bad.

It was actually *quite easy* to find Hostyl at SRM last year....he was wearing his RED Steel Eel shirt, just like he said he would....;)
I don't like the name. It's not that "Scream!" in of itself is bad, but the whole practice of reusing ride names from park to park with no regard to the themed area the ride is going into is something that really irks me about Six Flags. Over in Astroworld when they took down Excalibur and put up an SLC did they give it a name fitting for the Nottingham area? No they gave it the generic moniker "Serial Thriller" which made no sense. Why? Because they are lazy and they want to reuse ride logos and other marketing material and they don't care that it makes no sense. They could have given this ride at Magic Mountain a name that had SOMETHING to do with the part of the park its going, but instead they just chose to reuse one of their stock titles. Jerks. At least Time Warner had some sort of clue, these Premier clods have no regard.

Ummm.... Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Serial Thriller an original name?

Not only that, but the area SFMM's floorless is going into is behind the County Fair area, so you could really call the coaster anything and get away with it. How quickly people forget that up the road at Knott's sits a ride called Supreme 'Scream'. You guys just like to ***** and moan, plain and simple.

Nope, Serial Thriller had already been used before at SFWOA, and I think elsewhere as well.

No, Serial Thriller is a stock SLC name like Mind Eraser. Six Flags thankfully stopped buying them before we got too many, at least. Typically the individual park management has no say on what to name their big rides.

Who gives a rat's ass about a name? All that matters to me is the ride. I guess some people aren't happy unless they have something to b!tch about. I swear some of you guys are related to my ex-bitc--err--girlfriend. I gotta say I love the track colors. Its got that San Diego Super Charger look. Forget Scream, I'm gonna call it the Say-Ow!

What a Combo!

Do you guys think the GP really cares what the name is? Half of them confuse and mix up the names anyways, and many don't know them at all! (Most people at SFMM still refer to X as "The Xtreme" or "The big yellow one out in front.")

They also don't care whether or not it sits over a parking lot.

The GP is just alot more fun to deal with in general. Enthusiasts have sucked the fun factor down to ZERO, with all the whining and complaining.
