Schwarzkopf dies of Parkinson's Disease complications

Anton Schwarzkopf, known for his innovative steel coasters, dies Monday morning following a 15-year battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Schwarzkopf began building coasters in the Sixties, and produced them for several decades, even enduring bankruptcy. He is perhaps best known for shuttle loops and an array of portable rides that include Jumbo Jets, Looping Stars and Wildcats.

His son Weiland now runs a new company with the Schwarzkopf name.

im sorry to hear that norm. very sad news. Anton made great coasters, and he will be missed. my prayers go out to his family and friends.

The first large rollercoaster I ever went on was Revolution at SFMM, It'll be the first ride i go on when i head for the mountain again, it is truly a great ride and would still be superb if the park left it the way Anton Schwarzkopf designed it, with no OTSRs. They should really remove them, at least in his honor.

The SFMM Salvi:
"Goliath Jr. looks to intense for me"
"I want to go on something more exciting than X"
ya, they should remove the OTSR's, they would make the ride better and would be a nice dedication
