Why not put SBNO on coasters that ARE SBNO. We drove all the way down to pigeon forge from OHIO just to ride that. It was a terrible waste of time! It would've been nice if we didn't waste our time. It was a 5 hour drive from Cincy!

Why do we fear Mack trucks, but not Mack Wild Mouse coasters?
While I'm sure missing Thunder Eagle was disapointing I seriuosly doubt he drove all the way from Ohio just for a mid sized stand alone coaster when there is so much more to do in Pigeon Forge
That said he's right a notation of sbno isn't too much to ask

Did you not go to Dollywod? Bungee Jumping? Shopping? Go-Karts? Mini Golf? any other of the stuff that is everywhere in Pigeon Forge?
I would go to Dollywood, then hit Thunder Eagle on the side if it was open.

Nitro, Gemini, Laser, Ice, Thunder...The American Gladiators!
Thunder Eagle's been closed all season.
Seriously, though, why would you drive 5 hours for that and not consider going to Dollywood?
I was a bit miffed I drove an hour to get there from Knoxville. But I knew what I was getting into.

You know what. It's pretty ****ty that you (Jeff) didn't even bother to respond. I have made a few suggestions here, and none were responded to, except by people like the ones above that I don't care about. Considering all they've done is ask me why I was so stupid to go considerably out of my way to ride a coaster and not hit Dollywood (CAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO HIT DOLLYWOOD!) These post are not constructive AT ALL.

How do you know what/why I did and what was the point of your post?

And since he knows this site doesn't list SBNO

What was the point of that, and how do you know what I do or don't know?
All I was trying to get across was, why not list SBNO, you do list defunct coasters.

Um, perhaps Jeff didn't see your original post? (I know I didn't). Perhaps he's too busy with other tasks to worry about details in the coaster database right now.
While I'm sorry you took a trip to hit a coaster that turned out to not be running, the coaster database is NOT guaranteed to be accurate. It's up to our members to verify the information contained therein before basing plans and trips on said information.

Jeff works hard enough as it is to keep the forums running smoothly as it is. He provides us with a wonderful website, and you resort to insulting him becuase of a minor inaccurate detail? Is Jeff supposed to spend his entire day wasting his time calling every park for SBNO status so you don't have to waste your own by finding the information out for yourself? No, it would not be hard to list all the SBNO's but that isn't the focus of this site! There is a forum here...feel free to use it!
Obviously you don't care about what I have to say (and I could probably care less), but perhaps that is why he did not respond. I honestly feel bad for you that you wasted such a long drive, but really, would you be willing to make a website that lists every SBNO nationwide, and then take the heat from people like yourself because your info was wrong?

Eric: My first instinct is to call you some four letter words, because frankly I don't owe you the time of day. There are a thousand coasters in the database and hundreds of forums posts every day. Do you think I've got the time or desire to check every one?
Don't blame me for you not doing your own research.

The site's databases rely entirely on the members, so if you want things to be up to date you have to credit the members with that.

If I were planning a trip requiring five to six hours of travel, to go to ride a coaster, I would not go to coasterbuzz nor rcdb to confirm whether or not the coaster was operating. I would contact the destination itself. I don't know, seems obvious, but that's just me.
Anyone who's been on this site for more than a couple of months should have known about Thunder Eagle being closed. It's been the subject of several threads.
Anyway, the ride was lame and you would have done much better to go to Dollywood. Or, for that matter, Holiday World, which is probably 3 hours or less from your house.
Besides, no one goes to Pigeon Forge just to ride one coaster; there's too much else to do. Some of those wooden go-kart tracks are like coasters, and there are a ton of rides, from bungee jumping to those tall spinny things where the seat flips, to indoor skydiving, to gyroscopes. I hope you just didn't turn around and leave when you saw the coaster was closed.

I'm not sure if I said "Damn it Jeff, you let me drive all the way to Pigeon Forge for nothing", but I don't think I did. I was simply making a suggestion and you got terribly defensive and I don't understand that. In fact I was not blaming you. All I said was it was ****ty to not even respond as you have never bothered to respond to any suggestions I've given. They are there and you can go back and see for yourself. I have hardly seen anything but nasty responses to suggestions here, so why even have the forum for it? You are more than welcome to call me some four letter word, you already did: E.R.I.C., but any others work fine too.
CoderGIRL: I'm glad things are so obvious for you. What is not obvious to me though, is the point of your post?
Astro: What are you talking about? How did I insult him in my original post? Sure you could argue that from the second post, but that was after my first was ignored, and I really don't think I even insulted him then, I surely didn't intend to. You ask if he should spend all day calling parks to see if the ride is operating, but others have pointed out, that it was known amoung several people here and threads had been started about it. I had not seen those threads, nor thought to even look for them. My mistake, maybe, but that is NOT THE POINT.
Den pointed out that HW was only about 3 hours from my house, you are right, and I have been 4 times this year. That was not our plan for this trip, so that is why we didn't go.
The point, which is obvious to me, was this question: Why not list SBNO? That was it. Most of the responses that I got, had nothing to do with that question and only told me what I should have done. Thanks.

If it's been discussed in SEVERAL threads, why has it not been updated since then? I think the ENTIRE point of the thread from the getgo was, IF you're going to list ANY at all, why not keep them updated? Doesn't seem to be that much work involved.
By the way, nobody started out flaming anyone here, it transmogrified rapidly. It's a legit question in my book.

Did you not read the part about hundreds of threads and we don't read them all? It's so easy for you to sit back and say what's easy when you aren't me. I've never heard of the ride, had no interest in the ride, and still don't care about it. I would have never read the threads that were allegedly so obvious. As indicated in the contribute section, if there's a correction to be made, you e-mail it in. That's the process. There is and always has been an SBNO classification, but if the request to correct it doesn't happen through that channel, it won't happen.

When did I say anything was easy. I re-read my post just to make sure, and I didn't. Hundreds of threads? So what, the suggestions get only a few every now and then, and the point of this forum is for suggestions, is it not? If you are completely un-interested in hearing suggestions, or reading and responding in some manner, why have it? I also didn't say that any threads were obvious. They weren't to me, or I wouldn't have stopped by to ride this coaster. In the last part, you did somewhat answer my question. Apparently I can submit info regarding this ride, and MAYBE it will be changed? Huh, go figure. All of this, for one simple ass answer. Seems like people got defensive for completely NO reason. Because all it took, was: "Submit it through the contribute section." I will.
Amazing.
