Save Whizzer campaign - worth it or useless?

I would absoultely LOVE to see Whizzer get relocated to HW or Knobel's, they're the only ones who could get it right. But we'll probably end up seeing it in SFAW next season... ;)

Long live Whizzer; 1976-2002...

My wife used to work in GR (last two seasons) and she said that if you call 847-249-1776 and then dial extension 4625, that will bring you into the comment line. (Well, at least last year it did...) Every call is listened to, and every call receives some kind of follow up, whether it is a phone call, letter, etc. The guy who is over rides is also over that department. (Don't want to use his name, just to be safe). It might be worth it to flood their voice mail boxes... At least let them know there are people out there who love this ride...

Come on, don't say that! If they are taking it out, they might as well put it somewhere else. Although I do agree with you that Whizzer should have stayed.

The next ride that will be there is only 100 ft.
I'm getting less and less excited about a B&M flyer. It just doesnt look really intense and a lot of the trees will probably have to go. The pretzel loop looks cool but it's the whizzer we're talking about here. A classic. If all of the trees stay then I think a flyer would be great if it was a bit longer than S:UF and had some more swoops over the water and trees. That probably wont happen though. :'(

*IF* SFGAm get's a B&M Flyer I'd suspect it will be a near-clone of SUF.

I can't understand why everyone thinks that Knoebels or Holiday World would be interested in the ride... I know that, on paper, it would make sense, but why would such small parks want to deal with the maintenance when Six Flags didn't want to?

And I'm sorry to rain on anyone's hopes and dreams of a "relocated" Whizzer, but don't forget that Six Flags dismantled SFOT's Big Bend many years ago and sent it to SFStL but never did anything with it. Just because it gets sent somewhere doesn't mean it will be re-assembled.

Sorry... just being honest here.

On the news tonight they were talking about the Whizzer being removed and something about it staying in Illinois. People want it to at least. Good News on that one.

Come on! No more of this Wishful Crap! We all know where the Whizzer is going. Straight to Hell. (Scrap Heap)

I don't think any park is interested in a ride that requires this much maintenence. This was proven last year when nobody wanted SFOG's Viper.

The link for the "Save The Whizzer Foundation" doesn't seem to work... http://members.aol.com/whizzerman/

A campaign seems useless. (As already established) I know I'm skipping Ozzfest for two days of Whizzer power-riding. It's always sad to see an old friend go. No matter how tame this ride is, it was a great part of SFGAm's lineup if for just the reason that it was a sort of introduction to coasters for little kids. I'd really like to see it re-appear at Santa's Village.

Thank You for challenging TOS: The Ride. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day, here at SFCB.
