Sad news about Raven (the kitty)

I had a cat with the same physiological failure, and it was a terrible time in our lives. I feel your pain, and if there is anything I can do to offer additional words of encouragement, feel free to e-mail me, allright? :)

Well there you have it... my experience with those seperated by age is that they're both female. Reminds me of some of the volleyball teams I coached, what with the hissing and fighting. ;)

Awww, I know how you feel. My cat "Maggie" Named after by big orangeish red Arrow baby got hit by a car 2 weeks ago :(

She just had a baby a couple months prior to that which in honor of my signature is named Spawn ;) Those of you that read my story about "The Spawn of Magnum" know how appropriate that may be LOL.

Being a farm boy we have always had cats, they come from miles around and my Dad is a softy and ends up feeding them. Still we have always seemed to have one or two indoor cats and they are pretty special. Living in my own place I was never home enough to warrant keeping Maggie after doing so for a month or so. I took Maggie back to Mom's house. She got outside and got hit :( Wish I would have kept her here now.

Oh man, that's so sad! What a cute cat, too. It really sucks when pets come down with something from seemingly out of no where and it just tears them apart inside. One of my dogs had to be put down a few weeks ago because a tumor formed in his throat and he had fluid around his lungs. We had to put him to sleep. It's pretty sad stuff, but it'd happened to me a couple times. My dog, and most of my rats. But rats just die overnight sometimes.

As for Eastcoaster I am not going after all. I was just informed by a friend that the area is expecting six more inches from *****y Mother Nature. Being that I am 7 hours away doesn't help. I know, I am being a wuss. At least I got to attend NCC.

I am sorry to hear you are not going to make the convention after all. Tough week, huh? The roads at least here in Philly are clear, I see no reason why the roads in the Allentown area just north would not be as well. So everyone, come on out, it is going to be a great time.

I am truly sorry for your loss and completely understand your feelings. Even though you had Raven for a somewhat short time, that in no way lessens the impact of his passing. Whether you had him 18 weeks or 18 years, you would have loved him the same.

My cat is 16 years old (got her when I was 8) and to be honest, I am suprised she is still with me. She has been sick off and on and the vet told us years ago she probably would not make it very long. But luckily, to spite him, she has stayed with us and is happy and healthy. I don't want to even think of the time that will eventually come where we will have to say goodbye.

So keep up the good spirit, although it is sad he is gone, you know he is not suffering and is in a better place full of friends.

My cat also just passed away on Wednesday night. But he lived a long and sweet life - his 20th birthday would have been this year. I miss him dearly and he will always have a special place in my heart.

Sorry for your loss coasterqueenTRN :(

It's always tough losing a pet. My old dog had to be put to sleep. Raven looks very cute, sorry to hear about that. Maybe, if you get another cat, you should call it "Legend", even though that does sound kind of cheesy.

I am sorry to hear about that too, believe me! I heart goes out to you too. That is a long time. I know he is still with you right now in your heart just like Raven is with me.

Wow! Another rat person! lol. I love rodents. I have two gerbils right now but an old boyfriend of mine used to have a pet rat, Lukey. He was so sweet, and so personable. I fell in love with him. Janis and Lukey got along pretty well, of course he was almost 3/4 her size! Rats have a bad rep don't they? People never understood why we had a pet rat. When most people think of rats they think of the nasty, sewer rats. Pet Rats are very intelligent, they are surprisingly clean, very quiet, and very lovable.

Unfortunately Lukey got a tumor and died. We both took it pretty hard, especially him. I doubt I will have one myself but I like them.

I am so sorry to hear about your doggy. :-(

I am kind of bumming I didn't make it out but these things happen. It actually got pretty nasty here in WV yesterday for a while. Let me know how it goes! I am there in spirit. Did anybody attend the Dorney Park tour?

Thanks. I am sure it was tough with your doggy. I never thought I would have to go through that with such a young kitten.

When I was trying to pick a name Legend was probably one of my main picks. Raven just sounded better. But we all know Legend kicks Raven's butt all over Indiana. LOL.

<--------ducks from Raven fans

Just kidding. I love Raven too.Actually, Dragster was a name I picked out too, but then I thought "Well, I don't think the coaster is going to be named Dragster, so I will go with Raven." LOL! Little did I know.......:-)

I will keep Dragster in mind for my next pet.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. My 4 cats are my life. When I was reading your page, my eyes started to tear up. I have no idea what I would do without my 4 cats. Everytime I am away from home for a long period of time, my parents say my cats just sleep outside my door, or on my bed, just waiting for me to get home. However, I fear one of my Siamese is going to pass away soon, she is about 10 years old now, and has a hard time walking up the stairs and jumping up onto the bed or couch.

Allow me to ask a somewhat insensitve question. I 've always wondered, how much does it cost to have an animal put down? Does it vary with weight/breed etc.? I've never had to do such a thing with any of my childhood cats. They were all, at the heart, "alley cats", and all died living the "street life". But this is something I've always wondered...
