^Nice! I am trying to convince my brother and his fiance to come out to Holiday World as a "pre-Honeymoon" type of thing but we will see. ;-)

I too, have a wedding to get to that weekend. :(

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

rollergator said:^ We'll be rumblin' as long as the GCII guys are awake and at the controls.. P.S. I'll bring some espresso...

I don't know about Chris, but I can be bribed with coffee. It's gotta be good coffee, though. That stuff from Speedway that's been sitting around since last year won't hack it.

J

(Although I think I've been catching some Speedway ads that claim they are vastly improving their coffee offering. We'll see...)

Yes but that will cause you to miss Coaster Mayhem

And for those who might need a little more enticing to come to this event and missed my pics from over the weekend:

Need MORE enticing?

Yeah, right... ;)

:)

P.S. Beech Bend can NOT be prepared...here's hoping for a large selection of Rumbler merchandise (hint, hint).

/Michael Buffer: "Are you ready to RUMMMMBBBLLLLEEE".... :)

Anybody else been looking for that flyer a everyday since this topic was started?
I just hope I can get some time off work! :)

Gator, If there isn't much Rumbler merchandise hopefully there will be some rumbler food at the dinner, baked beans, sauerkraut, broccoli, etc! ERT could be pretty interesting!

Just wait until the train starts screaming down the first drop; then you can let it go. No one will notice. :)

Long live the Big Bad Wolf

Jeff, well both Jeffs...Is this event going to be CBuzz related like HoliWood Nights where club membership gets you in? I don't have an ACE membership so that's why I was wondering. I wish Beech Bend would hurry up and announce it on their site.

I have two words for Beech Bend: tracer lights! Can you imagine how gorgeous Rumbler would look at night with tracer lights gracing its curves?

Hmmmm, maybe I could send them some nighttime photos of OzCat... ;)

Pretty sure I remember the tracers on 'Cat went *against* the direction of travel, making the coaster FEEL faster...cool idea there! :)

LOL! You guys are cracking me up. There is nothing more disturbing than a visual of a train load of enthusiasts after consuming the above foods! Let's hope nobody decides to light up a match. ;-)

Then again we would probably have the world's first "launching" wooden coaster. LOL!

Hmm, SCBB Giant Dipper does the same thing, always wondered why. Looks very odd from the midway, like they made a mistake and installed the lights backwards. And the illusion of added speed on the ride itself isn't quite as effective because it only has lights on the first half of the ride with the larger drops that slow down too much at the crests.

Rumbler does look awesome though, can't wait to ride it at Rumblefest!!!

Rumbler looks even more impressive in person. ;-)

For anyone that is going to this event or lives in the area can you suggest a good hotel, were looking for something inexpensive but we don't want to be scared to sleep in the beds. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Coasterjoe, there's a Microtel in Bowling Green. I have never stayed at that particular one, but I've had good experiences with Microtels in other cities. Rates for that Sunday night range from $57.95 to $43.16. You might want to check it out.

Has Beech Bend posted the flyer on their site yet? I went there today and I can't seem to find it.

That reminds me, I need to book a place to crash that night as well.

Tina,
I was looking at a few of the hotels in the area and the Microtel that thrillerman mentioned seems to be the best one.
