Infogrames has officially released Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 today, the follow up PC game that lets you build your own roller coasters and theme parks. Dozens of updates include new rides and more powerful scenery editing, as well as a scenario and track builder. As we reported a week ago, some Target stores accidentally started selling the game on Tuesday, as many lucky CoasterBuzz members scored the game early. The CoasterBuzz Games site is open and testing for all of your RCT2 files.
Order the game from Amazon.

FIRST POST!!! j/k I already had a chance to fool around with the game. The layout of the game is pretty much the same, and I'm glad that wasn't changed. A few things that were annoying about the editor have been fixed. You can now build your track, and trees are removed automatically!
There are 6 Six Flags parks featured in the game, all have a great selection of rides and such. Guests are alot smarter in the game and you can build double and triple wide paths. The new blocking system is really easy to get the hang of, especially if you have been playing No Limits. This game will hopefully make this already short off season for me, even shorter!

Parks this year: 35
Beatings from Kara: lost count at 2,504
A lot of gaming web sites around the 'net are only giving it an above average rating, and are complaining about the same aspect many have for months now... it just feels like a large expansion pack.
I'm still disappointed that they used the same graphic engine that was used FOUR years ago. A Zoo-Tycoon or better engine would have helped it 10-fold, but I guess for now I'll take what I can get. I just hope I don't have to wait another 4 years for the next sequal... no matter the upgrade. I hope Chris Sawyer & co. is heavily working on the next version.
Anyway, you really can't go wrong for $19.95... so I'm not really complaining... I just wish the upgrade was a little better visually.

19.95 eh? I only paid 10 for mine, and that included one-night express shipping from Ebgames.com. How you might ask? Because my cousin works for EBGames and he gets a discount of 50% and they gave everyone at EBGames one game FREE this year, and he chose that one for me. My game is waiting for me to get home from school right now.

RubberDucky is mine.
I paid $32.00!
Also, Target wasn't the first store to put it out early. I bought mine on Saturday at Toys R Us.

So far I love the game - the scenario editor was almost worth the price just to not have to use a trainer. True that lots more should have been added (flat rides - no esta aqui), but then that's what expansion packs are for I guess.
I may be the only one here, but the SixFlag parks really do nothing for me. I'm having a lot more fun with the scenario editor.

Top 3 coasters at SFGAm: 1. DeJavu 2. Raging Bull 3. Viper
Amen about the Six Flags parks. There is nothing to them, and the recreations of the coasters are horrible.
The scenario editor is the best part for me.

Waiting for the CP announcement to be made so that about 1000+ posts will be made complaining about it.

edit...Rentzy...if you're talking this past saturday, then target still leaked it earlier...it was last week tuesday that it slipped out. I only heard of toysrus being this past saturday...neither here nor there though...the game is out now.

I got mine Saturday night after searching and I called KMart and they had it for $30. I was going to make a copy and give it to my brother but it didn't work so we bought another one. Since target had it for $22 we got $16 bucks back from KMart because they will give you the money back if they sell it cheaper. I love the game. You people who complain must be really picky. It is the most realistic game I have and is much better than the original. If you don't have it get it. Not for the sake of just having it but its a great game that you don't want to miss.
