Settle down.
It's the combined games and expansions, period. No matter how much you wish it was something else, it's not. Relax.

Considering that there were NO game magazines nor gaming web sites that made even a simple blurb about this... I'm on sides with what Jeff said about it just being all the combined RCT games into 1 package.
They'd want to hype it up much more if htey were projecting for a May release. Since it's a May release, making one simple package with all the RCT games into 1 makes complete sense, and doesn't need that much hype. It's just one other way to milk out a game for yet another year.
I hope this at least gets mentioned on Chris Sawyer's site and/or on the official RCT site. Who knows, maybe the official site will start being updated again!
Also, let me get this straight... so there probably isn't going to be any new material at all in RCT Gold?

RCT hypercoaster crazy!
We don't KNOW for sure that there's NOTHING additional in the pack yet, but looking at past trends in the computer gaming world, I'd guess it'll be the most recently patched version of RCT and both expansions, with a unified installer.
This happens a LOT with computer games -- look at Quake, Diablo, Unreal, Warcraft, Mechwarrior, etc.
As for WHY, well, RCT still sells. Retailers need to make space for "new releases", and so this is a way to keep RCT on the shelves in the shuffle. If past trends from other games is any indication, this bundle WILL sell, even among people who already own the game.

It's OFFICIAL, people. www.gamespot.com has released the official announcement on this at their site http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/news/0,10870,2859771,00.html
It clearly states what was said befrore. It will offer NO new content, just a compelation of the 3 games into 1 package.
Too bad, it's a nice idea, but it's a way just to get more revenue in, and most likely won't attract people who already own the game (I don't think).

I'm not disagreeing it most likely is a compilation I was just wondering How do you kow its official just because GAMESPOT announced it. It says no where on that news story this is the official annoncement for Golden ticket or anything. I've seen so called "official" announcements that have been totally bogus. Like the one that said magic mountain wasn't going to get any new rides in 2001. If it doesn't says it is official you can't say it is official.
Sounds like something from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!
Anywho: I don't see this being a 3-in-1 because CF already comes on LL like someone said and it doesn't take a year and a half to think of that. This is a new expansion, please please please!

Why does Riddler's line move so slow?
It's sponsored by AOL. ;)
Ok....FYI - Gamespot is not some fly by the seat of their pants game site...they are owned/run by CNET. I take what they say as if it was an official "release" from the company.
CNET has too much riding on their credibility to release information without getting confirmation from actual sources - not a bunch of "enthusiasts" who whine and moan and complain when they don't get what they want.
I am sorry for the tone of this message but between this thread and the posts about TR:TR, I am almost embarassed to call myself an enthusiast lately.

"Why would he bring out a 3 in 1 pack. There is no point. You can already get the original and loopy landscapes together, (or at least you can here in england) and as loopy lanscapes has added attractions with it, there would be no point bringing out all three. Also, i think if it was just all three it would say on EB, because if i pre-ordered it now, i would be really annoyed if it turned up as all three when i have already got all three.
Also, if you go to find the game yourself through strategy it has the "We recommend these Items" part. It seems stupid for EB to put Rollercoaster Tycoon original in there if this is a 3 in 1 package, as you would get the original in that anyway.
Of course i could be totally wrong and EB might not know what it is themselves, and are just advertising for it anyway.*** This post was edited by ms696969 on 4/1/2002. ***"
why would they bring it out?
because it is a TOP 20 download on the internet
people who don't have the game but do see screens and thousands of downloads are thinking
LETS GET RCT
when it is not in stores, they download it
since that is in violation with the copywright laws, they've dicided to make this 3in1 pack to prevent people from downloading and so they make some $$$ of the game

end of post...
MOVE ON !
If you ask me, the game isn't going to sell well. Everyone I know who has the original RCT, has loopy landscapes.Golden Ticket would be like making a mega pack. Most of the time, mega-packs come out when companies decide to stop selling the original expansions. Like Half-Life Gold(I think that's what it was called?) came out when the expansions stopped selling. Hasbrbo isn't going to stop selling the Expansion so this is Most likely going to be the last one. But we never know. What a crppy way of ending this post.
-----------------
Given that RCT still lands on the Top 10 charts, I suspect this compilation will sell quite well, actually. As did the Quake, Unreal, Half-Life, etc., packs.
Yes, the standalone packs will stop selling, but that's ultimately the goal of packs like this -- keep visible shelf space for older games.

You guys have absolutely no clue about the way the software industry works. No point? You mean except for the fact that there's a whole new audience who might see value in a combination pack of all three games? Every response I've read so far approaches it like some pissed off kid who won't be getting anything new.
Think back to Tomb Raider, kiddies. Repackage and bundle, move product.

Jeff...you had to mention Tomb Raider...didn't ya? I know you mean the game...but sheesh!

Somedays it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.
Tho this is not a sequal or expansion I wouldn'nt be too worried about there not being one. This game sold way too well for there not to be.
(this is to the dude that said he already preordered one), YOU ARE STUPID, you dont even know what it is yet!! --- ok sorry, but that isnt something you do--
I also dont think its a package, why would they do cf and ll together then do it all together, when they could have saved so Doh by already putting it all together.
Btw. RCT really has to have a way so you can build a B&M FLyer (SFOG :) ) X and the clone DEJAVU, and since Xcelerator is also coming, throw that in to. :) I would be happy, and maybe a 3D view would be awesome.
