Chicago man Richard Rodriguez survived 104 consecutive days on Holiday Park's Expedition GeForce in Germany. While the five-minute breaks every hour excluded him from breaking his record with Guinness, he breaks his record set last year on The Boss at Six Flags St. Louis.
Read more from Salon.
I would think he could be qualified as an "expert" He should testify before congress against Markey, that coaster riding is safe, even in extreme conditions.

Oooh, we've arrived fellow coaster geeks! If Salon is covering us, you know we've got to be cool. ;)
Interesting that his field in psycology. Maybe he's studying obsessive behavior. :)

Wow! That's a long time. He was riding that coaster when I was at the park in July. He even rode with us during ERT.

I hate to say it, but dude, get a life. I mean, I tend to value my wife, friends, pets and even stupid stuff like a video game and movie now and then. Three and a half months of my life would be better spent doing virtually anything.

It has nothing to do with what he chooses to do... it's still my opinion that it's a total waste of time. Who cares if anyone disagrees. You know what Jeremy says about opinions...

I know it's your oppinion but sorry Jeff, i disagree.
Hey, maybe he doesn't have a wife or kids or pets. He obviously loves roller coasters and will get a lot of publicity for what he's been doing. I just saw it last night on my local news!
How many people can say "Yeah I rode a roller coaster non-stop for 104 days." Life is all about living on the edge, taking risks and doing something that no one else has ever done.

"Life is like a roller coaster; there are ups and downs and it's over all too fast."
Joe Carrol said that this guy now "qualifies as an expert" and could testify that coasters do not cause brain damage as Markey et al claim. Personally, I don't think anyone who has spent 104 days of doing nothing but riding a coaster should testify about anything even bordering on brain damage. Okay... well, may be not brain damage... but I surely would not want him to testify on "mental stability."
I was going to ask "what does this guy do that he can get that time off", but I re-read the article and I see that he is a doctoral student in psychology. Oh, man... there's got to be a good joke or two there.

Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

"He obviously loves roller coasters"
I would tend to disagree: I believe that he just wants publicity.
I happen to like coasters; and because of this fact, I sure wouldn't spend 3 months on the same one. My God, if you had three months to spend coastering in Europe, wouldn't you wanna go to more than one park, let alone be on more than one coaster at that park?
I'd suggest "idiot" over "lunatic," but we could argue semantics all day.
