Rock N Rollercoaster: Smooth?

Hey.  Just curious, how smooth is Rock N Rollercoaster?  I've heard it's very smooth, then I've heard it's a bit rough.  Which is it?  I'm hitting Disney/MGM in three weeks along with IOA, BGT and SWO so I'd really like to know how RnR stacks up against the smooth B&M monsters that can be found elsewhere in Orlando.  Thanks!  :)

It's not extremely smooth, but for a ride like Joker's Jinx it's smooth enough. You have a nice headrest that helps a lot.

You want to know how it stacks up against the smooth B&M monsters? Well, for starters, it's made by Vekoma. Rock N' Rollercoaster is another coaster that needs to be retrofitted with lapbars.

It's a pretty good ride, but if you've ridden FoF, then you don't really need to ride this. If the wait is less than a half hour, then I say go for it.

While you're at Disney/MGM don't miss Tower of Terror...one of the best rides anywhere.

Rock N Rollercoaster was eXtremely smooth! But that was last year when I rode it. It is one of my favorites. Hope this helps.

Very smooth-- Very fast-- Very fun.
It's a tad rough. Especially around the corkscrew. An awesome ride non the less but a little rough. Have fun.

Ooohhhh, sounds decent enough. I've never been on a FOF or JJ so this will be a new one for me. I'll be at MGM on the 4th of Sept.
I haven't ridden it since January, but it's pretty smooth except for some bumps around the corkscrew.  The launch is excellent and the whole ride is made better by the theming.  This is definitely a not-to-be-missed ride, and is my entire family's unanimous choice for best ride at WDW.

You'd have to be "Jaded" to not love RNRC!  (Sorry, I couldn't resist)

Good one ACBLuke!  :)  Sounds like it's pretty smooth, with a few rough patches.  Typical Vekoma.  ;)  Still, I can't wait to ride it, I've seen some of the theming in an POV video from a site I found about WDW, and it looks awesome.  There is Aerosmith music pumped into the car during the ride, right?  I surely hope so, I think music like on Space Mountain increases the ride experience.  I was bummed when I was at DL in April and the music was turned off.  :(

Rollercoaster lovers do it in the front seat!

I got one or two touches with the OTSR, but it was not bad at all. You should enjoy it, the themeing is outstanding.

I was shocked off how smooth it was. I thought it was going to be head bang city, FoF before it got its Restraints.
Well its smooth...for a Vekoma. Kind of like the old saying "Pretty good...for a girl." Its a Disney ride so its not that intense. Still a good ride, launch is good too.

The actual ride on ToT wasn't that great IMO. Just that one drop in the middle gets you. The bellhops when you board the elevators are great

I'll address both major questions here:

1) Being as I was just on RnRC two months ago, and it was a tad bit head-bangy...however, the well-padded headrest and OTSR make it extremely comfortable and ease the pain.  The launch is more incredible than even the Incredible Hulk...but the rest of the ride is not nearly as good as the B&M.  I'd suggest grabbing a FastPass because if you wait in the long lines that pile up during the day, you'll be pissed and you'll see it as a letdown.

2) ToT is AMAZING.  If you get a bellhop with a sense of humor, it makes all the difference because they pretty much scare the crap out of first-time riders and wimps.  Also, the drops are pretty good, but the best plummet is undoubtedly the last one...MAD AIR BABY!!  Again, this ride is worth the wait, but I'd suggest utilizing FastPass where you can...and if you see a wait sign, subtract about 15 minutes from it for the REAL wait...it cycles FAST.  Oh, and one last pointer...request the last seat in Row #5...you won't regret it...no lap bar...just a seat belt...hehehe...have fun!  Disney ROCKS!

I thought RnR was incredibly smooth for a vekoma.  The launch is awesome.  I was actually able to do it 9 times in one day.  2 times were with a fast pass.  It was incredible.  Don't pass it up.  I mean, you are gonna be at the park, you are an enthusiast, so ride it.  Well worth the wait.

As for Tower of Terror, you should do it, but don't go in thinking it's gonna be the most incredible ride of your life.  You will get disappointed as did I.  The special effects are cool, good theming, but it doesn't live up to the drop like most people say.   Have fun.

To answer the question is it smooth or not, I leave you with this.  It is smooth throughout most of the ride, except during the couple of inversions.  And if you're going to ride it, the front seat is a MUST.  Have fun :)
Okay, no matter what anyone says, you have to go on it at least once. It's really well themed and has Aerosmith playing from the speakers in the coaster cars. I personally love the ride.
RnR is pretty smooth, not a glassy as some B&Ms, but the smoother Vekoma I've ridden by far.  I don't really see where is resembles the experience of FOF that much.
It's is a "family-ized" coaster. A good ride, but slightly toned down for a more accessible ride. The theming is what makes it work. It's Disney; what would you expect?

It is probably the least "intense" coaster of the bunch.

Kraken takes the cake as my favorite in Orlando.

The music sets this coaster apart from most. It is smooth as well(or as I thought).

Kraken is actually probably the coaster I'm looking forward to the most, besides Montu and Hulk.  All the Orlando coasters look incredible.  Thanks everyone for your input on RnR, I'm definately going to ride the thing whether it's smooth or not, it looks awesome.  I was just curious about it's intensity and smoothness since I don't like rough coasters at all.  I can stand a certain amount of roughness, but when a coaster gets too rough, it's not a ride I'll go on.  Anyways, thanks again everyone!  :)
