Shaggy: I had forgotten about the Turbo Force. I rode one at IAAPA in 2000 inside the Georgia Dome. They were only loading 1 person in each set of 2 seats. Normally, when the gondola on one end is being loaded and the other is at the highest point of the ride, that gondala at the top is locked into place so it can't rock back and forth. Not the case when I rode. While we at the top, the nut in the seat behind me continuously rocked the gondola. Eventually the gondola locked and, when it did, it was tilted where I was looking directly at the ground below. Not fun. Scared the poo out of me.

Drop Rides and Ferris Wheels..I am scared of heights but I can take coasters just fine..

I also hate bungee type thrill rides...

(It sucks to be sick! BLAH!..no coasters 4 me today :( )

Skyrides will always make me a nervous wreck. I just don't trust those cables! I think I held my breath the whole time waiting for disaster to strike when I last rode Cedar Point's. The Big Shot in Vegas is the only other ride that I was actually scared to ride (at first).
I would love to ride it again though.

Freefall rides by far. I still get a little nervous and hesitate to ride them, but once I do, it seems like nothing scary at all. Just going up is scary, going down is awesome.
I've never been really scared on a ride but the Big Shot on top of the Stratosphere had me gasping. That's the most nervous I've ever been on a ride.

Supreme Scream at Knott's still scares the ____ out of me! Just thinking about being strapped in on the tallest S&S Turbo Drop in the world is FREAKY ENOUGH, but when you're waiting to be YANKED down 252 feet, youd probably pee your pants out.

Sky Rides for sure. I have always had a fear of heights but handle coasters fine. I have gotten stuck on gondolas more than once for over 45 minutes. I don't trust them anymore. I have yet to ride a skycoaster. I almost rode one the other day at Emerald Pointe. I am forcing myself to ride one next time I go to a park that a skycoaster.

Drop Zone scares me and I wonder why, it seems like your up there for minutes on end and when you drop the sigh of relief, also I will not do a sky ride no matter what.

Can we change the name of Top Gun to your mom so no one wants to ride your mom?

Everytime I go on Dr.Doom at IOA I always get really nervous before they open the doors for you to go in. Then once your strapped in they lift off the floor and you sit there for what seems like eternity. But once we're launched I'm fine.

Does this thing go faaaaaast!

Desperado really scares me while going up the lift for some reason... mad butterflies there. Another coaster that still kinda scares me is California Screamin' when you're waiting for the lauch to happen and also when you're about to go down the drop after the elevator (i think) lift before the loop... it looks like 90degrees+ from the front row.

The SFMMInsider... coming soon

Drop rides used to scare me, but after riding Giant Drop about 30 times in a row one day without getting off last year I haven't had a problem with them ever since. The only time I get a little bit nervous is when im riding a new type of coaster for the very first time. Last year the first time I rode V2 I was pretty nervous watching those towers sway and seeing how close it came to the top. I wasn't as nervous in Deja Vu's line maybe because I was looking at it all year.

All Sky rides scare me, to freaky all those people being held by a thin peice of string.

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone

Only two coasters have ever really "scared" me.

1) LAKESIDE CYCLONE- Lakeside, Denver. This ride looked like a pretty big, fun ride from the photos I'd seen. However, when I drove up, it was quite tiny! When I rode by myself in the back seat, however, I knew better! This is by far the WILDEST coaster I've ever ridden- I actually feared for my life!

2) WILD CHIPMUNK- Lakeside, Denver. After my thrilling LC experience, I figured I'd take a spin on this for the count. Now, this is a TRUE wild mouse! This coaster made me fear for my life- that I was truly going to fall out! I never thought this wimpy little kiddy-looking ride could be so frightening. It was all in good fun.

One ride that seems UNSAFE is the Parachute ride at SFoT. I mean, any small kid could slip out of the bucket and fall to his death! All you get is a seatbelt, if I remember... it scares me just thinking about it.

-----------------
You knew me; I didn't know you; I knew you not. I met you, and I no more knew you not. Now I know you, I wish I knew you not. You wish you didn't not knew me not?

If I'm secured to the seat I'm okay, even on drop rides (although I do get nervous right at the top before they drop it -- I'm always afraid it'll break down and I'll be stuck up there). Even sky rides are okay. But what really gets me are the ones where I'm not fastened in. The Eiffel Tower at PKI is still my most horrifying ride to date. Even though it's enclosed...just something about being that high and not being strapped in, I guess.

And that helix on the Beast...the first time I rode it I was SURE it was going to fly off the track. Going into the tunnel the first time around it looks like the train has to make a near 90-degree turn just inside. Combine that with the amazing speed, noise, and roughness that reinforce the out-of-control fear, and that's a heartstopper.

Any of the SS towers still "get" me the first time. What really cranks me, though, is the skycoasters. I still get terrified. I last rode the Skycoaster at Valleyfair, and I went with some work buddies, one of which was a 67 year old woman. She laughed the whole time, and kept commenting on me shaking so much. Here I thought I was the big man, and I was practically wetting myself. I don't know....it's a long ways up, and there is nothing underneath you but death. Ugh.

Lesourdsville Lake, The great American amusement park opens the season June 6th Thurs-Sun every week. Park phone is (513)539-2193

The only things that scare me are Super Loops, those things that look like rollercoasters, but there just a loop with a train on them! I have ridden one of those when it was empty, and I was in the front seat alone! It hesitated forever at the top! I'm fine with everything else! For some reason everyone is scared of Turbo Force, but I find it slow and boring, even when I'm the only one on it, it's just plain boring. I'm terrified of the raptors on Jurrassic Park at IoA though!

-----------------

I have been trying to figure out why no coasters cause a problem, even those that drop straight down. But I am scared to death on any Drop ride, I think it is because on a coaster you see exactly where the ground is and the track pulling out at the bottom, on a ride like Drop Zone you dont have that reference. So you dont know where the bottom is, another point is why dont Power Shots scare me. You still drop down afterward but have no time for it to register.

Whats life if you never get to the Po!nt?

The one thing I havent tried at any amusement parks are rip cords because I'm realy terrified of rip cords. Although Valleyfair Fan (CBuzzer) who works there is talking me into trying out VF's rip cord this year. Every year I have been pushing my self to ride it but realy nervous about it. What are rip cords like?
